  • From an article:

September 14, 2012 - Exaltation of the Holy Cross
    Double Major Feast
Fr. Hector Bolduc, an Early Hero of the Traditional Catholic Movement, Dies
He Was Viciously Attacked by JPII-Wojtyla's New Order Sect
    Hector Bolduc & Marcel Lefebvre
Fr. Hector Bolduc (Left) and Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre
Fr. Bolduc Was Ordained by the Archbishop in 1974
And Served as an SSPX District Superior in the United States
In 1983 He Left the SSPX and Became Indepedent, Serving Several Traditional Communities
Fr. Bolduc Was One of Those Early Heroes of the Traditional Catholic Movement
Who Was Viciously Attacked by the Newchurch of the New Order, then Run by JPII-Wojtyla
Because He Would Have Nothing to Do with the Uncatholic New Order Sect

Fr. Hector Bolduc was one of those early heroes of the Traditional Catholic Movement who suffered much in the early days of Newchurch because he refused to have anything to do with the unCatholic New Order sect. He was ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre in 1974. By that time the "establishment" Church had already defected to the New Order sect and viciously attacked Fr. Bolduc for offering the true Catholic Mass and Sacraments, which the New Order sect had abandoned after 1964. The New Order sect hates those true priests who had the courage to stay away from it and denounce it as unCatholic, and even invalid, as did Fr. Bolduc and Archbishop Lefebvre.

Fr. Bolduc became the SSPX's U.S. Southwest District Superior in the 1970s. In 1983, he left the SSPX, became independent, and served traditional Catholic congregations in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Maine, inter alia.

All too many pseudo-traditionalists of the present day are willing to sell out to the same New Order sect that Fr. Bolduc and Archbishop Lefebvre so courageously resisted as unCatholic. Like the Archbishop's effete successor, Bernie Fellay, of the Neo-SSPX, they swallow Benedict-Ratzinger's Great "Motu" Mess Hoax and keep putting money into the Newchurch collection plate to pay off for the sɛҳuąƖ crimes, most of them ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ and paedophiliac, that, to this day, Newchurch leaders, including Benedict-Ratzinger, still support.

Good Catholics, you should realize that you owe a deep debt of gratitude to the early heroes of the Traditional Catholic Movement, like Fr. Hector Bolduc, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, and Fr. Gommar DePauw, the Founder of the Catholic Traditionalist Movement. These heroes of our Traditional Catholic Movement refused to sell out to the phony and unCatholic Newchurch of the New Order and show up the pseudo-traditionalist "Extraordinary Mess" sellouts for the pusillanimous patsies that they are.

  • I served Holy Mass for him in people's basements when he was newly ordained - if my memory serves me correctly, he had some type of pretty severe sleeping disorder back then - does anyone know what he died of?

Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

  • Yes we need to remember and give thanks and prayers for Fr. Hector Bolduc, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, and Fr. Gommar DePauw for their faith-full-ness to the true Catholic Church.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.

  • I am deeply saddened by the death of Fr. Bolduc.  He was a fine Traditional priest who truly fought the good fight and ran the good race.   Whenever my husband and I were in DePere, WI, we attended his beautiful little Chapel.  Fr Bolduc celebrated the Mass according to the 1948 Missal and delivered terrific sermons about the terrible crisis in the Church today.  Because of the SSPX crisis, my husband and I really considered moving there and becoming his parishioners -  now it is too late.  Kyrie Eleison!

Eternal rest grant unto Fr. Bolduc, O Lord; and let perpetual light shine upon him.  May his soul, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.  Amen.

  • "...does anyone know what he died of?..."

    God took him.

Everyone is assigned graces and sins for the measure of their life.

When we accept the final grace, or reject it, and we commit the final sin or refuse to commit it, we die.

We might die when involved in a car crash, or survive.

We may fall out of the sky with 300 other people in an airplane and survive; it was not our time.

We die when God says so.

It is always a good reason to pray the Saint Joseph prayer for a happy death.

Also, I understand Father Finnegan gave Father Boulduc Extreme Unction.

Say a Hail Mary for Father Finnegan. And Brother Eric.

  • From Catholicism.org:

    Father Hector Bolduc, RIP
by Brother André Marie September 10, 2012

We ask our tertiaries, friends, and benefactors to keep Father Hector Bolduc in your prayers. Father Bolduc was a long-time friend of Saint Benedict Center. It was he who arranged the meeting in St. Mary’s, Kansas between Brother Francis and Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in 1980. He was, at the time, a priest of the Society of Saint Pius X.

Father Bolduc was a hard-working priest who was most self sacrificing in the administration of the sacraments. He was also a good friend, and took criticism for his championing of extra ecclesiam nulla salus.

Father Bolduc had stage four cancer. His death is no surprise. A tertiary of ours in Wisconsin wrote us this morning: “Father Bolduc didn’t show up for Mass this morning and, when someone checked on him, they found that he had passed away some time during the night in his sleep.  Please pray at least one Ave Maria for the repose of the soul of this great man.”

  • Seven years ago, he went through a bout with colorectal cancer. 3/4 of his intestines were removed as a result of it. Instead of going through chemotherapy and radiation, he opted to get it removed. They had given him 3 months to live.

Seven years later, the cancer had spread to his liver, kidneys, and sadly, to his throat. He would have good days, and bad days at the end.

I had the great honor of being at one of his last masses. The baby was acting up, but I was told what a beautiful sermon he had yesterday morning, regarding how we do not even comprehend how much a devoutly said prayer, whether it be a "Hail Mary" or an "Our Father" is worth to Almighty God, and how God rewards even little prayers. If we're not praying more than once a day, he said, we're not praying enough.

Yesterday, he left here to go to Necedah, to make sure they had Mass up there. There was to be no Mass here today, as he stayed overnight there (since he couldn't drive at night anymore because of his deteriorating eyesight.) This morning, the altar boy went in to see where he was, since he was late for Mass. He was found dead.

God rest his soul. He was faithful until the end. He will be greatly missed by all in the Green Bay area that knew him.

Thank you. I also wondered this myself. Thank God for this. This is very comforting. He was so worried about everyone else all the time. He said to me, "The more adversity I run into, the longer I'll be around."

Two weeks ago he said this. His extraordinary sense of duty was rare to be seen this day and age.

  • We can ask him to pray for us as well, for surely, if he is not already in heaven, he will soon be.  Requiescant en pace, good Father.
