  • I'm banning him (with no animosity of course -- it's for his own good, and that of the Resistance which is more important than any of us!).

As for the link, and the "to Pablo" thread, I'm leaving it.
    http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2001-02-08/feature/the-devil-and-mr-hernandez/

I want everyone to be warned about Pablo's true nature -- because Pablo's limelight and prominent position is unfortunately not limited to CathInfo. Pablo still has his couple of websites, and he works with Fr. Pfeiffer IRL (in real life).

I have written an e-mail to Fr. Pfeiffer updating him on the situation. I just sent it to him; I look forward to his response.

Anyhow, this is just like committing a relative to a mental institution when they have a need for such. Do you hate your Uncle Fred when you have him committed? Of course not. It's for his own good, and that of his family.

That is the precise mindset I'm in right now about Pablo. There is a lot about him I like personally, but I see him as too dangerous and unstable for the position he has placed himself in thus far.

I like eccentric people. I really do. Anyone who knows me, knows that. But if he really is doing exorcisms on his own, that's serious business, and he needs to be put at a safe distance from the Resistance and its media organs.

I'm sure Pablo could use more than a few prayers. As well as Fr. Pfeiffer and the entire Resistance.

By the way, here is how Pablo responded to my posting of the article:
    Quote from: Pablo

    Mr. Matthew,

Is this the best anybody can do?

    I appreciated the article.

It was difficult for them to report on, but all in all I think they did a good job.

The necromancers, witches, satan devil worshipers have had light thrown upon them, even if that light, such as this article, was only a dim light.

Many in our community have been quietly awaiting someone, anyone, that would step up to the plate and expose and fight the wickedness and snares of the Devil and his accomplices.

I have stated many times before, some battles have been even to hand to hand combat.

Did righteous, holy people bring this evil into the light to rebuke it?

Their prayers have been for ill to befall us.

And when we prayed daily the Holy Rosary in the Saint Joseph Chapel at Our Lady of Sorrows in Phoenix, they chased us out of "their" Chapel.

Women and children were and are being ravaged by diabolical with no one there to come to their aid.

The Novus Ordo has done many things to weaken us, but those Holy Ones that should be in the forefront of the fight are instead assassinating the character and hindering the efforts of those that stand and fight.

That is why I call them and what they do evil.

  • Seems it's for the best.  Prayers.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • From the article:

    Quote from: Pablo
"I'm a really tough guy to like," he says. "And I was a jackass back then, full of myself, on top of the world. You couldn't tell me anything. But Father Hurtado was never petty, and he always treated my family well."

In 1997, when Hernandez missed a court date related to a traffic ticket, he asked then-pastor Kenneth Dean to write a letter on his behalf. Dean complied, and his March 24, 1997, letter described Hernandez as a "lay exorcist." It explained that his exorcism work occasionally "makes him dysfunctional," rendering him unable to show up for appointments because he's too busy tackling demons. For that reason, Dean asked the judge for leniency.

A correction on the above quote from the article.  The article mis-named the priest; it was NOT Father Dean.  The actual correct name of the priest is signed on the letter but will not be stated to prevent any injustices to him.

  • I've met the type, myself, Matthew.  Back in the 1990s.  All charismatics.

Well, like you, I get a kick outta ol' Pablo. Hope it works itself out over time.

    Good move.

That article blows what information we have way out of the water (as bad as it is). God help us all.

  • The resistance, (to which I am committed), has some serious fissures.

O God, come to our aid.  O Lord, make haste to help us.

Our Lady of Good Success, please pray for us poor sinners.

I think we are in excellent shape. We just went through something that is going to strengthen us and burn off some of the dross from our unfortunate SSPX past. A good layman stood up and did what was right. He put it perfectly. He said he had to lance the boil before it became a cancer (I paraphrase). He took his lesson from Vatican II bishops who did nothing when they had ample cause to act. But he also could have, just as easily, taken his example from current SSPX members, who now have ample cause to act, yet remain silent. The boil of Menzingen grows fat and pustular while supposedly good men say nothing and do nothing to stop the infection from spreading throughout the whole paste.

We did good today. We acted like men. We cleaned our own house. We practiced justice and mercy. It's a good sign.

  • Now the picture is emerging.  Pablo wants Father Pfeiffer to be consecrated a bishop so that Bishop Pfeiffer could confer the order of exorcist on Pablo.

    Question:

What authoritative reference can be provided that clearly and specifically says laymen who have received the Sacrament of Confirmation DO NOT have any power whatsoever to perform exorcism?

I don't have your reference, but I'll say this:

Fr. Pfeiffer (and others) have attempted to defend Pablo's actions by bringing up PRIVATE exorcism prayers, holy water, use of the St. Michael prayer, etc.

That is all true -- laymen can make use of those sacramentals and prayers.

HOWEVER: It is Mexican superstition to put out a sign and hire yourself out! Bringing a boombox and a deck of playing cards to the home of a THIRD PARTY unrelated to yourself, with the aim of STAKING OUT the devil on a night vigil, and anticipating that the situation might go "even to hand-to-hand combat" is NOT a sane Catholic attitude towards the devil.

Pablo shows an unhealthy fascination with the devil. Period. That much is not open for debate.

He has some kind of Mexican machismo thing going on, where he and the devil are each other's personal nemesis from way-back.

A layman is well within his powers to make use of the Rosary, scapular, St. Benedict medal, St. Michael prayer, holy water, etc. to fight the devil in his own life. But when it comes to HELPING OTHERS, you can either give them the prayers/sacramentals and have them "fight the devil" themselves, or refer the matter to a PRIEST.

Catholics are not to be "Ghostbusters" with a 1-800 number offering their services to "customers" (even if those customers are not paying customers. I don't believe Pablo charged for his services.)

Have a problem with the devil? "Who you gonna call? PABLO!"

    That is insane.

I live next to the very hispanic town of Seguin (named after Juan Seguin). I often drive past a place that has a sign, "Espiritualista y protector" Mexicans seem to have more temptation against the 1st commandment -- or at least DIFFERENT temptations (namely, superstition) -- than the average anglo white guy. The average white guy doesn't go to spiritualists, "protectors", tarot readers, etc. but every Mexican area has these small shops.

White (non-hispanic) guys have other issues with the 1st Commandment -- like becoming protestant (hahaha). I'm sure many of you can see this is true.

  • Playing around with things like "exorcism", as a lay person, runs the risk of inviting the devil in.

  • A good post from Mateo. I'm not aware if 'healing ministries' have made it in to the SSPX but there are a few in Ireland. Laymen are doing things similar to perhaps what Pablo is doing. Take a look at this link http://www.larrycuмmins.ie/

    Quote
In 1986 during a healing Mass in Waterford, Ireland, I had a conversion and since then my life has been transformed. I have had many spiritual experiences, which continue to increase. By the power of the Holy Spirit Our Lady guides me through an inner voice or inner locution. Our Lady's mission, through me, is to pray for the Holy Souls not at peace, unbaptised and evil situations. I have been given the spiritual gifts of prayer and discernment of spirits to know peoples' concerns or problems, so they can be helped

Laymen are playing exorcist. These 'healing ministries' are very popular.
