It just adds to the sadness -- what the seminary might have been under different circuмstances (for example, if Pablo had been sent away in early 2012 or so). Many of these pictures were taken before Fr. Pfeiffer declared war on Bishop Williamson and the majority of the Resistance. So many of these pictures were taken before Ambrose Moran (a fraud) was embraced by the SSPX-MC as their bishop, so they could freely oppose +Williamson and +Faure. And notice how many pictures are of field trips, and how few are in the seminary itself, with the seminarians studying! I think that sums up what is wrong with OLMC Seminary in a nutshell. Fr. Pfeiffer is too busy travelling the world and trying to service the whole world's spiritual needs to be able to successfully run a startup, understaffed seminary.

Also note that virtually all these young men in cassock have moved on; some to other seminaries, while others have had their vocations destroyed.

The seminary only has one or two seminarians with more than six months' seminary training (if you can call what OLMC provides as "seminary training").
As an aside, that is a huge waste of benefactor money for such paltry results. They really aren't any closer to forming a single new priest than they were in 2012.

And I've heard from multiple sources (who have no reason to lie) that one of these 2 upper-years will probably never be ordained; I won't go into details since it is a question of something the person can't control, rather than personal fault.

But Fr. Pfeiffer is happy to keep this individual in cassock because the family is a huge benefactor; plus his seminary gains political points and added "credibility" for every warm body in cassock they can transport around and show off at the various Mass centers. It helps with Seminary PR (public relations). The more seminarians (or apparent seminarians) he has, the more legitimate his seminary appears at first glance.

He is a good seminarian, a great brother, outstanding organist, and wonderful role model. God willing, he will become a priest. God's will be done.

And now you know WHY there is a seminary. The exploitation of these young men to extract donations from naive benefactors. It's a cash cow. Totally tax-free income that never has to be reported. It's quite a master stroke.

Plays nicely into the "Kentucky Holy Land Revival" fantasy that the these back-woods Borgias cling to so desperately.

Before we went to Kentucky, we visited the seminary in Winona. This was before we joined the Resistance, but after Father Pfeiffer had received his marching orders.

I do not know what the future holds for my brother. All I can do is pray diligently to accept, to do and to follow God's will, and to encourage my brother to do the same.

I'm pretty sure if he needed help with moving to another resistance seminary, funds could be found among us to get him there. You too, MC, for that matter. If, considering all of the problems, you won't even give a moment's consideration to such an option, then perhaps you should ask whether it is Christ you are attached to, or certain persons.
Christ doesn't only exist in Kentucky, or any place else.

If you were planning to have surgery on your body, you would surely seek out the best conditions available to you for your preparation, operation, and convalescence. Would you purposely choose a surgeon and hospital that were embroiled in malpractice suits, health citations, scandals and such - when more optimal resources were available to you? If not for your body, which is temporary, then why for the soul which is eternal?

I need to clarify something.

I was thinking that perhaps +Williamson's interview of OLMC's "upper years" during his 2013 visit is what convinced him that he won't be ordaining any seminarians trained there. I was told that most of the seminarians failed miserably when +Williamson quizzed them with questions a Confirmation candidate should have known.[/b]

Incidentally, according to what I was told, Martin's brother actually fared better than the rest of them.

Remember, before his visit to the seminary in 2013, +Williamson had no preconceived notions about the seminary. I commend him for checking it out (as well as the seminarians) in person before forming a judgment about its worthiness.

Let's give credit where credit is due -- how many young men have the generosity to give God the first choice about how they will spend the rest of their lives? So many guys say, "No, I'm pretty sure I want to get married..."

What, are seminarians a bunch of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs or asɛҳuąƖs (no sɛҳuąƖ attraction)? No, they are just as red-blooded as you, only they are generous enough to offer themselves as a sacrifice, if God wants to use them as a priest to save souls. They give God the first choice. If they discern at a seminary that they don't have a vocation, THEN and only then they consider the natural, default path of all flesh (marriage).

God will not be outdone in generosity. And with God, all things are possible -- even perfect chastity in completely healthy (heterosɛҳuąƖ) men. It's a question of God's grace, and developing the requisite virtues.

One may be inclined to say that this is better than nothing. Where in the English-speaking world is there any kind of seminary outside SSPX and SV initiatives? If the work of Fr. Pfeiffer and others is largely in providing Masses internationally, precious little time is being devoted to the question of their succession. Come fifty years, a true priest may be as rare as his weight in gold. I am sure by that time the faithful will stop being so picky and grab anyone that is out there having any kind of training. Beggars will not be choosers. The alternative will be priestless Sundays for most people and that is a reality now in so many places.
