  • I must decline an invitation to join this order for the following reason. I decided against joining the Third Order on prudent advice from a friend. I couldn't in conscience join any group affiliated with the SSPX under their current leadership and whilst questions remain unanswered. I agree with these words of Bishop Williamson.See below.

So I gladly decline joining these Knights. Why should I join an organisation that has abandoned the principles of its founder and appears to have no principles at all given the expulsion of Fr Pfeiffer.

Whilst Bishop Fellay is Superior General, I certainly won't join a third order.

  • I have also declined to join the 3rd Order SSPX for similar concerns.

I can do the same things the 3rd Order does on my own, since they are just things good Catholics should already be doing anyway.

When betrayal comes from within its own ranks, that society is doomed.

  • I too thought about joining but decided instead to join the Traditional Third Order of St. Francis. I became a Novice just a couple of weeks ago (Sister Seraphia). I need all the help and discipline I can get and the prayers of centuries of Franciscans helping my poor family. My children are cordbearers.

The Canada chapter has a website (posted below) where we get our study supplies. My SSPX chapel in North Carolina is very small but we have five Novices now -- with two more in just a couple months!

  • There are traditionalist Dominicans, Carmelites, and Benedictine.  Don't they have third orders (or oblates in the case of the Benedictines)?
