  • I just received Issue 17, the Spring 2018 issue (60 pages) of Oportet Christum Regnare today. This issue, like many past issues, has a particular theme: "Reflections on the Sacred Ministry", or the Catholic priesthood and vocations.

To give you a better idea, here are the sub headings: The Priest Another Christ, Priestly Holiness, Holy Sacrifice of the Altar, Priest as Missionary, Clergy and the Resistance, Apostolate and Vocations.

One of my favorite parts in this issue is on page 20, "Abp. Lefebvre Counsels Seminarians and Priests"

"Drawn by this ideal, he comes to offer himself generously, courageously, abandoning any other dreams which he may have had when he was young. From now on he will be an instrument of God. Wherever God is present, He stirs up vocations. Souls who come into contact with Heaven have a desire for Heaven. Souls who come into contact with eternity lose their attraction to time. They lose their attraction to creatures, and that is what stirs up in them the desire to give themselves entirely to God -- that is the real source of vocations..."

Then there are a few pages about the virtues of the priest.

And then I turn the page, and I come across 4 more pages of solid gold: "Abp. Lefebvre Urges SSPX Priests Not to Compromise"

In the very middle of this issue, I was surprised to find a double page in full color! Pictures of St. Ignatius Loyola, St. John Vianney, Padre Pio, Abp Lefebvre, Fr. Fahey, and a bunch of Resistance bishops and priests.

Then towards the back of the magazine, one finds the usual Catholic commentary on recent world events (Syria, Russia, United States, Israel, Palestine, etc.)

I was also pleasantly surprised by the last 2 pages -- entitled "Quoteworthy/Food for Thought"
The headings: Priestly Celebacy, One True Church, Orthodoxy, The Humble Man asks More from God, Natural and Eternal Law
