For what reason was A/V recording forbidden?
.
Especially in a day and age where so many clerics are spuriously ordained or consecrated, the more proof the better!  It's important for clerics to be able to ease the minds of those who approach them for sacraments, especially if they are coming from without.
There is absolutely no down-side to forbidding "anyone and everyone" from recording at the ceremony.

There was professional audio help which did some amount of video recording as well, and SoldierOfCTK was the OFFICIAL videographer/photographer. Right there, so far, you have your "evidence of the event". So talking about proof, easing the minds of the faithful, docuмentation, etc. is a moot point.

Plus I was the semi-official "Catholic media" representative, given special permission to take all the video and pictures I wanted. So now you have TWO sources of exhaustive video and pictures.

Any more than that, and it would have looked like any modern "event" with 100-200 people all craning their phones up in the air with one or both hands, creating a paparazzi media circus. That wouldn't do for such a solemn event.

If you want memories of the event, buy the official DVDs when they come out. Or if you can't afford that, just get it all from CathInfo for free. But if you stand aloof from forums, then I guess it's too bad for you. Time to join up, isn't it? CathInfo is free to join.

I, for one, don't see the problem.

Any photos, videos, or first hand reports of the consecration which took place today?

It is surprising with the plethora of smart phones and mobile internet access that nothing has come out yet. I admit my expectations are probably formed by the instant communication word we live in. :-[
Most of us who went to the Masses were kept rather busy without much time to post anything here to keep everyone updated...  Sorry!   :-[

For Thursday's Mass there was a constant downpour of rain and many of us in the back got rather wet.  There were actually puddles all over where the choir was singing!  Friday was much better though, and things had a little bit of time to dry out.   :)

We did not have the speakers we were supposed to have in the sanctuary.  So, it was a bit tough to keep track of what was going on.  Yet, over all everything seemed to go rather well.

At the banquet on Thursday Father Ringrose, Dr. White, and Bishop Williamson, and Bishop Zendejas gave some great speeches.

Father Ringrose made a great joke about how whenever we have a big events with bishops at our place it is always "in tents" - "intense".

Dr. White several jokes, but my favorite was a joke about how there was a man who went out to eat at a restaurant and ordered soup.  When his food was brought out he noticed that there was a fly in his bowl.  He called the waiter and asked, "What is this fly doing in my soup?"  The waiter paused for a second and then answered, "I think, sir, that he is doing the back-stroke."  ;D

The Consecration Mass on Thursday was about 3 1/2 hours long, so Bishop Zendejas' first Mass yesterday seemed really short when it was only about 2 hours long!   :)

I was delighted that several people decided to bring their musical instruments.  We even managed to sing the "Que viva mi Cristo" song with mandolin, accordion and violin!  Thanks to those who played!  It was great!  ...Bishop Williamson saw us setting up and was a little concerned about what type of music we would sing.  Yet, when it was an folk, he seemed quite please.   :)

I did not have a good camera with me.  So, I didn't really take pictures.  At any rate, give people a few days to get home and maybe there will be more!

Fr Chazal is still wearing the same style garb as Fr Pfeiffer. White cassock with red sash. The Jesuits of their Madura province in India were allowed to use this red sash to commemorate the martyrdom of their confrere, St John Britto. Later, the secular priests of the Madurai diocese also began to use it. The SSPX which set up in south India, for whatever reason, began dressing up like this. And now the M-C have adopted it.

This is a story I heard several years ago. At a church fair in Malad, Mumbai an SSPX priest was strolling around in the company of some faithful. He was wearing a white cassock with a red sash.
An announcement was made on the PA system: Beware a fake priest walking around and pretending to be a bishop! ;D

:applause: nice one AJNC

I think Fr. Chazal and the MC-SPX should be in black cassock as the missionaries of the old days. Case closed!  ;)
