Do Lutherans drink?
All of the Catholics will be at the bar.

(Just a BAD joke)
I understand you were just joking, but seriously -- I think only fundamentalist Christians abstain from alcohol.
Fundamentalist = "having actual beliefs, which they take seriously"

In my experience, Lutherans are QUITE mainstream. You will find them at public beaches, waterparks, dressed (or un-dressed) like everyone else. They fully participate in The World, they use birth control, believe in divorce, etc.

Any "religion" that isn't fundamentalist is just a social club. I don't even acknowledge them as real religions. If your religion doesn't tell you what to do in your daily life, then it's useless.

We're getting close now. So close, in fact, that May 11th shows up on the long range weather forecast!

I hope they have a tent big enough to shelter everyone -- otherwise a lot of people might get wet.

And only _official_?/Re: Official information for [...] Consecration

Banquet bookings: [...] please contact DIRECTLY the person in charge: [see original reply (#18) for contact-info]
Clergy attendance: by personal invitation only.
Please do NOT call St Athanasius Rectory for problems with your [personal travel arrangements !]
The priests are VERY BUSY !

Isn't it quite safe to assume that the laypeople who've accepted leadership roles or other responsibilities to make this consecration happen and related events run smoothly are also "VERY BUSY ! "?   And things will go wrong !   From inexperience, if nothing else; as Matthew himself had written (albeit for a different reason):

1. It is the first consecration of a Traditional Catholic bishop in the United States who is not Sedevacantist and/or Thuc-line. This will also be the first bishop whose priestly apostolate was primarily in the United States since Fr. Williamson was chosen in 1988 !
2. Even today, there are not THAT MANY Trad bishops in the recognize-and-resist Traditional Catholic world.[....]   Right now the neo-SSPX and Resistance have a total of 6 bishops, most of whom are over 70, and the rest of whom are in their 60's.
3. It is the first consecration of a new generation of bishops. [....]

So upon further review, I post this as my mea culpa to the clergy and lay leaders of St. Athanasius (Catholic Church) for participating in cluttering this thread with unofficial content.

May I be excused for being so bold as to suggest that to keep this particular topic well focused on what its Subject: plainly indicates is "official information", e.g., from responsible sources at St. Athanasius, that henceforth, all social chatter, including personal plans for attending, recommended attire, double-secret recognition signs, &c., be moved to an explicitly unofficial topic that I created yesterday afternoon (May 3) for the purpose?

    <https://www.cathinfo.com/sspx-resistance-news/unofficial-informationre-official-information-for-bp-zendejas-consecration/> [sic]

Yes, the event has its own Web site, but unlike a Web-forum site (e.g., CathInfo), it's not set up with index pages that are designed to easily show visitors to the site what's new and what's changed.  But even on CathInfo, that works well only if unofficial people keep their unofficial content out of the official topic.  Not to put too sharp a point on it.

Of course, I don't exercise any authority at St. Athanasius, nor on CathInfo, but perhaps I have the paradoxical advantage [$] of being "able to see the forest despite all the trees".

-------
Note $:  From absolute certainty that my budget prevents my attendance at the consecration.

What if we wore a "Vendee heart" patch/pin, to declare our Catholicity? It might be a fun project for kids to cut them out from felt, too.

I know it's a bit late, but I'd recommend a St. Benedict Crucifix pectoral cross. I've worn one in the past and got a lot of good reactions from Catholics and non-Catholics alike, all of whom recognized it as a Catholic sign.
