  • Boy, am I confused!

Didn't Fr. Rostand recently bash Catholics for talking together on the internet (blogs)?

Didn't he condemn this very practice, and medium of exchange, in his newsletters?

Didn't the SSPX, Menzingen, expel Bishop Williamson from writing an internet "blog" as a Bishop to pass out understanding and information?

Good for the goose; but not for the gander!

    So what's the beef...?

Yup, since Fr. Rostand has been "monitoring" the blogs, as he said on the YouTube Post Falls conference, he is now "hooked" on it; he needs to have one of his own.

We are pleased to announce the start of a new traditional Catholic blog by Angelus Press.

This blog, which will post daily Monday through Friday will examine, “the role of Catholicism in the modern world, and, perhaps the key to that discussion: the role of Tradition in the Catholic Church today.” See the first posts:

Liberals are full of double standards.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • When will Fr. Rostand have time to do his regular duties?  Weird.

Updating blogs and monitoring the internet ARE his regular duties.

I don't see it. Moderated out of existence I suppose. It is kind to warn them that operating a blog is grounds for expulsion from the Society. What priest is in charge of Angelus Press these days?

  • I've never seen a more obvious case of "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!"

Part of me gets a kick out of watching the liberals react to OUR actions. Like we're defining the debate, the battle, and choosing the battlefield. They're doing the catch-up, reacting, etc.

They're the passive principle, we're the active principle. They're the female, we're the male.

    Much better than the alternative!

But it's true. Catholics all over the country INSISTED on going to the Internet to figure out what in the world is going on. Fr. Rostand's first choice was to forbid them, warn them (poison the well), scare them away, etc. but none of that worked.

Now he has to try Plan B, which is to give Catholics an "outlet" for their curiosity. But I don't think that's going to work either -- they already have official SSPX media organs they can visit (SSPX.org, Angelus.org, DICI, Angelus newsletter, Rorate Caeli blog, etc.)

I think Catholics are smart enough to know that if you're researching what's going on with the SSPX, you can't just listen to SSPX-run websites! You have to go to some neutral, or even "contra" websites, to get the full picture.

Apparently, though, if a priest has a pro-Menzingen blog, that is considered an exception to the rule.

Like I said, liberals have double standards.

  • Not to mention that a blog is not a forum.  So there won't be an exchange of ideas, which is what today's trads want.  Whether they are pro-Fellay or pro-Faith....they want to control the dialogue themselves.  Blogs are neither democratic nor fun.

He obviously approves of it, otherwise it wouldn't have been advertised on the Society's US District website.

  • It's funny how deceptive the Accordista propaganda is.

First, they said it was a bunch of Sedevacantists.

Now, they're complaining that a plethora of "Resistance" websites sprang up to cause trouble.

You realize, of course, that CathInfo wasn't created to be a Resistance forum. It's one of the biggest thorns in the Liberals' sides, but it meets NEITHER of those descriptions. CathInfo has been around since 2006 -- long before the SSPX Crisis.

It's simply the place Traditional Catholics talked about STUFF. And when the current SSPX Crisis came about, they naturally talked about that topic there as well.

My wife and I came to the same conclusion here as well.

  • You know that if Fr. Rostand came across a fantastical cyber-weapon from the NSA (or the future!), like a

Super Destruction Cascading Anti-Website Cyber Missile
(A super-advanced virus that destroys a website and prevents it from being re-established anywhere else -- let's say it destroys the owner's PC and all his backups. Please indulge the fantasy for the sake of discussion!)

and he only had ONE of them (and he couldn't get any more than one), you KNOW which website he'd use it on. I don't think he'd even have to think about it.

He'd use it on CathInfo, no doubt about it.
