I'd say that as many as 95% of the parishioners do not know anything other than "the talks with Rome are still ongoing, last news was they rejected what we asked for".
Those 95% are breaking their backs working and providing for their children, and they don't have the time to study these things. It is up to the ones that know, to educate them as to what is really going on, but in a prudent way, never assuming that they are your enemy. Go for the biggest families, the most important people and educate them. SSPX parishes are really only composed of a few families, like four big families can clear out a chapel. Most of the parish work is done by very few people. Educate them!
"A foreign body, foreigners have come into our parishes to divide us. It is not us who have changed, we are still the same friends that you've known for 2-30 years. These people have taken our church from us. They now have started throwing out our best priests (Hewko, Pfeiffer,...etc., and now Bishop Williamson.), and will eventually throw us out, and keep everything WE BUILT!!!"
It is encouraging to see this message getting circulated. It must be done in all
charity. The manner of speaking is sometimes more important than the content.
Do not be concerned you are not saying enough, but rather be concerned that
you are not saying it in a way that will not be rejected out of hand.
People today (and always) are very sensitive to attitude.
Obama would never have been elected the first time around if he had shown his
true meanness and contemptuous character, which is now starting to emerge, and
will be his downfall. But this thread isn't about politics.
Catholics need to know but how to tell them when they don't like to feel ignorant?
