News of the SSPX from Europe and Asia (gleaned from various French language web sites):
Fr. Pfluger preached at a retreat for seminarians at Flavigny, France and was full of praise for the Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). He said that he thought the Society has been too hard on the FSSP and that the Society should take the FSSP as it’s model, since the FSSP has not been losing priests whereas the Society is.
The December 2013 issue number 86 of the bulletin of the SSPX Swiss District, “Le Rocher,” contains a narrative of a trip to the Holy Land by
Fr. Wuilloud, District Superior of Switzerland (and one of Fr. Pinaud's judges). In said narrative, he stated that “we had the joy of being able to celebrate the holy Mass in the ѕуηαgσgυє.”
In December 2013, Menzingen placed an interdict on the sale of
Fr. Pivert’s book
Son Excellence Mgr Lefebvre: Nos rapports avec Rome. [
His Excellency Archbishop Lefebvre: Our Relations with Rome] based on a lengthy review by Jacques Regis du Cray (aka: Ennemond, Comte de Previgny, etc.). The book was released in May 2013 and at that time Fr. de Cacqueray was told to discipline Fr. Pivert, but refused to do so as the contents of the books consist mainly of quotations from Archbishop Lefebvre. Mr. du Cray (who is neither an priest nor a theologian, but does control the purse strings of the Jaiderhof bequest) finds fault with Fr. Pivert’s narrative.
Finally, as of 5 January 2014,
Fr. Salenave (one of the 37 French priests who wrote the "Open Letter to Bishop Fellay") has been deprived of his ministry (à la Fr. Pinaud). He was turned in by Fr. Wuilloud (see above). Someone read his e-mail and gave Fr. Willoud a copy. Fr. Salenave was a highly respected and beloved retreat master in Switzerland. He is currently staying with his family. Pray that he joins the resistance.
Fr. Sthélin will replace
Fr. Daniel Couture as District Superior of Asia effective in August 2014. It is rumored that Fr. Couture may replace Fr. Regis de Cacqueray as District Superior of France.
Stay tuned for further developments. :pc:
