Mr. Heiner,
Thank you for that video. Very interesting.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Do you understand now that for me interviews are about discovery and conversation, rather than usage as propaganda?
I think that is a loaded question. One may argue that Fr. Rostand didn't answer the questions, or even that you would have asked different questions. But it is an entirely different thing to question the integrity of the interviewer simply on the basis that you don't like the questions he asked.
Your interview with Charles Coulumbe is a very different type of interview. It was an informational interview on a subject near and dear to the hearts of (sadly) only a few of us history nerds. Though the topic was certainly controversial, it was not dealing with current events, nor was it intended to clarify statements or policies of current prelates.
It was interesting to me because I love the subject matter and it is a topic that Mr. Coulumbe has obviously researched and is quite competent in dealing with. It was not interesting due to any particularly pressing questions by the interviewer. It might as well have been a lecture by him. Not taking anything away from you in that necessarily. Half of the time I couldn't even hear your questions, and I wonder how necessary they even were. You very well could have said at the beginning, "Tell us what you know about Catholics and the Confederacy" and it would have had the same effect. Perhaps an improvement in sound quality would change my opinion on that.
In any case, I do appreciate you posting that, and giving Mr. Coulumbe the opportunity to talk about it.
