  • Fr. King, SSPX, the prior of St. Mary's House, Preston, England, announced last Sunday that he was leaving the SSPX and joining the resistance. He will be based in the north of England and will serve the faithful there and possibly in Scotland in the near future.

  • A way to confirm this?
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

A transcript of his announcement/sermon will be published in the next few days.

Also, Fr. Bellini (SSPX Ireland) is leaving the SSPX too and will serve the resistance faithful in Ireland.

  • So, that Frs. Abraham, Bellini, Clifton, Kimball, King, MacDonald, all from the British district (as a percentage this is extraordinary), either on the verge of leaving or have left. Not forgetting Bp. Williamson. And in a couple of months the District Superior Fr. Morgan will begin his 12 month sabbatical. But will he return to the society or join the resistance? Time will tell.

  • Well it's about time. I mean how many more of these "internal memos" i.e. Cor Unum's can these priests read and sit back and do nothing?  Honestly.  They (SSPX priests) know a hell of a lot more than they are letting on.  I'm convinced of it.

  • While it is welcome that more Priests join the Resistance, there is also great sadness to witness the disintergration of the beloved SSPX as founded by ABL.

  • After looking at the SSPX England website, I noticed they go by the new calendar feast days.  I have never seen anything like that from the SSPX.

  •

Am I missing something? Or is St Joseph the Worker the problem? Hardly new, 1950s.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Fr Morgan is taking 12 months sabbatical? Wow, that's ... long. I hope he is well.

I don't know all of these priests, are they mostly "Old Guard"? They are most apt to notice the shift from principle i.e. "no practical agreement without doctrinal solution" to person i.e. "Bishop Fellay is the only one who can know what is best." I am still waiting to see if the young ones will notice this in hindsight or if they were just too well prepared to accept anything Bishop Fellay says and does.

Today is not the feast of St. Catherine, that was yesterday.  They are using the new calendar.  Maybe you were unaware that there is a new calendar and an old calendar.  If not then I seem to be not understanding why you are not understanding...

  • If by new calendar you mean 1960 then the SSPX priests use 1960. And I may be completely wrong here, and by all means do correct me, but I think that the feast of St Catherine is April 30 in the 1960 and in the previous calendar as well. The SSPX UK calendar here says so too http://www.sspx.co.uk/page_chapels.htm

Fr. Clifton and Fr. Kimball are still working in the SSPX.

True, but they were both moved out of England because of their behavior and are still openly critical of Bp. Fellay. That is why I wrote on the verge i.e. they are very close to joining the Resistance.

It is inconceivable given what has occurred and is occurring in the British District that all this could have come about without the assistance and knowledge of Fr. Morgan. I'm sure he too will be joining the Resistance in due course.
