.....That suspended sentence, on her own bond of €2,000, is on condition she keep the peace and be of good behaviour, and also on a special condition that for the next two years she does not engage in any behaviour in any public place or public forum, to include social media, which is abusive or offensive to any person or group with whom she disagrees.....

I couldn't open the link either...but perhaps it is about the woman who got arrested for causing a lot of chaos for the resistance in Ireland after the Public Excorcism?

  • Woman to be arrested over allegations from ultra-conservative religious group – The Irish Times

Woman to be arrested over allegations from ultra-conservative religious group

Group’s founder gave anti-Semitic speech at Cork branch of SSPX Resistance last year

Gardaí are to arrest a Cork activist next week on charges of "inciting hatred" against a Christian fundamentalist group operating in the county.
The group, which is part of a loose worldwide network called the Society of Saint Pius X Resistance (SSPX Resistance), was founded by an ex-Catholic bishop who recently gave a sermon in Cork linking Jєωιѕн people to the start of Covid-19 and calling them “master servants of the devil”.
SSPX Resistance has made a complaint to gardaí alleging incitement to hatred, harassment and trespass by Cork resident and campaigner Fiona O’Leary, who lives close to the church.
Ms O’Leary has written about the group on her blog and visited its compound to take pictures and question its leaders. She also photographed and published pictures of two of its priests after spotting them in the supermarket.

Incitement to hatred is a rarely prosecuted offence which makes it a crime to publish material “likely to stir up hatred” against a group or individual.
Last week, Ms O’Leary was informed by gardaí in west Cork that she is to be arrested by appointment next Tuesday for the purposes of interview in relation to the allegations. She was told she will be arrested in public if she does not attend the Garda station by arrangement.

The Cork branch of SSPX Resistance came to some prominence recently when its leader, Giacomo Ballini, led a procession through Dublin to perform an exorcism of the Dáil, in an apparent breach of Covid-19 regulations.
    Investigation
As part of their investigation into Ms O’Leary, gardaí contacted a journalist from Cork’s Southern Star newspaper last year and asked who her source was for a story she wrote about SPPX Resistance, The Irish Times understands.
Ms O'Leary's solicitor Ray Hennessy said this week he is surprised by the Garda's approach to the case. "They are being very aggressive towards Fiona and I don't see the need for it."
The Drimoleague woman has a long history of campaigning on various topics through her blog and social media channels. She has previously clashed with Scientology, far-right movements and promoters of fake autism cures.
She was told by gardaí recently that a file on her case is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for recommendation on what charges to bring. An investigating garda has mentioned her social media activity as the basis for some of the allegations made against her.
Last year, SSPX Resistance founder Richard Williamson travelled to the Cork branch, which is based in a farmhouse in a remote part of the county, where he gave a sermon claiming, among other things, that Jєωιѕн people are manipulating the stock market in an effort to start a war. The Jєωιѕн Representative Council of Ireland referred the comments to the Garda after they were reported in the Sunday World newspaper.

    Excommunicated
Mr Williamson was once a bishop in the Catholic Church before being excommunicated in the late 1980s. He was later readmitted to the church before being excommunicated again in 2009 after his conviction in a German court of h0Ɩ0cαųst denial. He founded SSPX Resistance as an off-shoot of the Society of St Pius X which itself once broke away from mainstream Catholicism over its belief that the modern church was becoming too liberal.
Mr Williamson’s group is more conservative again, and believes the SSPX has itself become too modern.
SSPX Resistance is not in communion with the Catholic Church and believes reforms instituted following the second Vatican Council, including the abolition of the Latin Mass, are invalid.

    REPORT
    DISCRIMINATION

HOME / HATE MONITOR / HATEMONGERS

    Fiona O’Leary
    KEY FACTS
    ANTI-RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM
Fiona’s tactics are so extreme that even an avowed anti-Scientologist has denounced her as a “vicious hatemonger.” Her history of irrational rants and threats extends to multiple religious organizations. She expressed her hatred in this internet posting: “I hate f**king religion.”

    Fiona O’Leary
    KEY FACTS
    OBSESSIVE
Fiona described herself to the Irish Examiner in these terms: “I have a tendency to become obsessive… Unfortunately for me,… it manifested in destructive behaviours. I had many ‘meltdowns’, episodes of panic and confusion…

    Fiona O’Leary
    KEY FACTS
HATE FUNDED BY DISABILITY & SOCIAL WELFARE
O’Leary’s personal income is derived from disability and social welfare benefits, even though she appears to spend much of her time attacking individuals and promoting anti-religious hate and intolerance.

    HATEMONGERS
    Fiona O’Leary
From her home in Cork, Ireland, Fiona O’Leary obsessively attacks individuals and entire religions.

    Her tactics have included:

Recording phone calls without informing the other party, then publishing audio recordings (or other private data) on social media without consent

    Conveying false information

Making false claims to government officials in attempts to stir up baseless attacks or “protests” and
Shouting abusive, hate-filled language in public venues.

Her tactics are so extreme that even an avowed anti-Scientologist has denounced her as a “vicious hatemonger.”

    Fiona O’Leary
Her history of irrational rants and threats began long before she started targeting the Church of Scientology and extends to other religious organizations.

The depth of her hatred was expressed in a 2013 posting:

    “I hate f**king religion.”

Then, responding to replies to her post, she said:

“I hate religion so much! It should be banned!”

Years later, a September 2017 posting showed that O’Leary had not changed. Referring to her husband, she wrote that “Tim says all religions are cults. I think he is right.”

Her tactics are so extreme that even an avowed anti-Scientologist has denounced her as a “vicious hatemonger.”

O’Leary has two autistic children but has campaigned against autism treatments since 2014. In fact, she started a group with the purpose of attacking anyone who suggests there might be an effective treatment for autism.

    Fiona O’Leary hates
She has given special attention to a product called Miracle Mineral Solution (MMS), believed by some to alleviate symptoms of autism. When one Scientologist in England promoted this product on social media, O’Leary asserted that the Church of Scientology had endorsed MMS—a complete invention on her part and evidence of her willingness to manipulate information and spread lies.

In an interview with the Irish Examiner in November 2013, O’Leary confided that she had been diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome by Caroline Goldsmith, a Dublin clinical psychologist. She said,

“My inner turmoil, I believe, caused my anorexia at the age of 16. I have a tendency to become obsessive. I can bring incredible focus and determination to whatever I do, which is a useful skill if it is channeled in a positive direction. Unfortunately for me (and for many other Asperger girls), it manifested in destructive behaviours. I had many ‘meltdowns’, episodes of panic and confusion when the strain became unbearable. In 1989, at the age of 18, I attempted to take my own life.”
O’Leary later turned against Goldsmith, who became the target of an O’Leary hate campaign after Goldsmith spoke out regarding autism and research that could lead to cures.

    Fiona O’Leary
No surprise, O’Leary’s personal income is derived from disability and social welfare benefits based on her giving fulltime care to her autistic children, even though she appears to spend much of her time not with her children, but on social media or out in the streets.

In that regard, O’Leary attacked Goldsmith, claiming she was a fraud. In December 2015 her postings against Goldsmith were removed as hate speech by Facebook.

After an article was published against Goldsmith in the Irish Examiner, Goldsmith took the publication to court for defamation. The Irish Examiner settled for a substantial sum in recompense to Goldsmith in November 2016. The settlement was reported by O’Leary on her social media pages and videos.

But O’Leary continued to slander the psychologist on social media even after the court case, also harassing her with phone calls and text messages.

“All of her so-called ‘advocacy’ revolves around hate campaigns, online and offline bullying and relentless self publicity.”

In 2016, O’Leary’s pattern of bullying was exposed by a website concerned with raising public awareness of autism treatments. The author noted that O’Leary’s right to represent the autistic community in Ireland and her ad hominem tactics were being questioned. “All of her so-called ‘advocacy’ revolves around hate campaigns, online and offline bullying and relentless self publicity,” he stated.

Although she claims to believe in freedom and free speech, when asked on Peoples Internet Radio in September 2017, “Do you believe that parents have the right to refuse mandatory vaccinations?” she responded “No.”

Asked if she believed that a child should be forcibly vaccinated if the parents did not consent, she responded that she did. In that interview, O’Leary was called out for harassing the radio host’s family, including his 14-year-old niece, after the host asked her to “name her rapist.” The host was referring to O’Leary’s assertion that she had been raped as a child.

While O’Leary goes out of her way to attack others, she has not named this man or turned him over to authorities, even though she claims he is a pillar in the community.

As the new Church of Scientology of Dublin was preparing for its opening in October 2017, O’Leary was twice banned by Twitter. After the opening, she contacted the Ahmadiyya community, (a branch of Islam) in Galway to complain that one of their members was attending the Church.

She made public postings antagonizing the Ahmadiyya community, harassing them to the point that she admitted in a YouTube video that one of their members was contemplating ѕυιcιdє because of her online abuse. O’Leary went on to make further derogatory and irrational comments about the Ahmadiyyans, stating:

    “Ahmadiyya promote dangerous QUACKERY.”

“Talking to religious leaders and followers who worship quackery. Not very peaceful when asked reasonable questions.”

In October 2017, after repeatedly posting negative comments about the Ahmaddiya community, she engaged in a dialogue with the national imam, Ibrahim Noonan.

On Twitter, Imam Noonan posted, “Sadly I never said or used such words Fiona. What is becoming clear is your fabrications.”

  • Tom, the link is not available to me. What is the story? Who is she? Etc.
An autism campaigner has received a 60-day suspended jail sentence after she pleaded guilty to trespassing at the property of a Christian group she believed to be “a cult”, in what was described as “an endeavour borne out of misplaced public concern”.
Fiona O’Leary, 51, of Knockduff, Dunmanway, Co Cork, pleaded guilty at Bandon District Court to the charge of trespass at the property at Reenascreena, owned by the Society of Saint Pius X Resistance, or SSPX Resistance, on August 10, 2020.
Inspector Deborah Marsh told Judge James McNulty that at 5.20pm that day, Ms O’Leary, in the company of others, including some of her children, entered the property, owned by a man named in court as Fr Giacomo Ballini.
The judge heard she said she was a member of the press, and the “Covid police”, and began filming different areas of the property, including an office and a bedroom.
Insp Walsh said the footage was then uploaded onto social media.
In court, Insp Walsh said Fr Ballini had contacted gardaí, and his statement was read out in court. In it, he said five people, including two adults, parked a car on the property and then proceeded into the building, despite a request from two women there for them to leave.
The statement outlined that Ms O’Leary was recording as she walked around the property, that she said she was from the “Covid police” and that she rebuked those there for not wearing face masks. The court heard the filming included that of a private room and office, despite a request that she not do so. Ms O’Leary left at 5.50pm.
Ms O’Leary’s barrister, Alan O’Dwyer, agreed this was a fair representation of the facts. Outlining his plea of mitigation for his client, who had no previous convictions, Mr O’Dwyer said Fr Ballini had been excommunicated from the Catholic Church, but Judge McNulty said the court was not interested in politics or religion being discussed in court.
Mr O’Dwyer said Ms O’Leary was a mother-of-five, that she was autistic, as were four of her children, and that her eldest child, who is 30, has had significant health issues. She and her partner are both carers, he told the court, adding Ms O’Leary had not come to any Garda attention since this incident.
“She would describe herself as a campaigner for people’s rights,” Mr O’Dwyer said of Ms O’Leary.
“This group [SSPX Resistance] refer to themselves as the resistance and she feels that they are acting outside legality.
“She may believe that they are a cult."
Using what he said were his own words, Mr O’Dwyer added: "This was an endeavour borne out of misplaced public concern.”
Mr O’Dwyer said his client was pleading guilty to the Section 13 Public Order offence, was apologetic and had said if she could go back in time she would have acted in a different way.
Judge McNulty said it was a “grave offence”, given it involved a “wilful intrusion on private property” in contravention of rights upheld in the Constitution.
“She is entitled to her antipathy,” the judge said. “She may harbour antipathy towards them [the group], but the antipathy is not permitted to escalate to the stage of enmity, of hostility, or vitriol.
“One has the distinct impression here that your client has taken on the role, herself, of the political correctness police.”
He said neither a fine nor community service would be appropriate and taking into account aggravating factors — such as the presence of her teenage son during the incident — and mitigating factors, such as her caring responsibilities, he sentenced Ms O’Leary to 60 days in prison, fully suspended for a period of two years.
That suspended sentence, on her own bond of €2,000, is on condition she keep the peace and be of good behaviour, and also on a special condition that for the next two years she does not engage in any behaviour in any public place or public forum, to include social media, which is abusive or offensive to any person or group with whom she disagrees.
The judge said Ms O’Leary can have and hold her opinions and nurture antipathies but there were boundaries which he said were necessary for civil public discourse and debate.

Wow....it's good to see that an Irish court of law is actually capable of making a good decision. Thank you for posting this.

It's sad to see someone like Mrs. O'Leary, who is so deluded and anti-Catholic. It might do well to offer prayers for her conversion.

In other words, he’s not just a “bishop for Ireland,” as the latest EC (#835) states, but an independent bishop who can go wherever, whenever (including places already serviced by other Resistance bishops, with or without their permission).

It seems the intention was for +Ballini to remain in Ireland, but that apostolate has grown all the way to Asia and America.

Perhaps he could consecrate Father Chazal, whose consecration is 10 years overdue.
