  • Please remember in your prayers Fr Ballini in Ireland. He announced yesterday in Cork that he will be leaving the SSPX to join the Combat for the Faith and minister in Ireland to the good, clear-sighted souls there, along with Fr MacDonald who is working with him.

We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

  • For those of us unfamiliar with the situation in Ireland, is this a good thing?

    He's leaving the SSPX.

Is he joining the "resistance", going back to the Novus Ordo, or what?

    Thanks.

Yes, this is a very good thing! Fr Ballini is fully against the new direction that the SSPX is taking towards modernist Rome and has been very courageous in speaking out. He has taken a very courageous step and is solely motivated by the glory of God and the salvation of souls. It is so important to have priests that speak out against Vatican II and it's errors. Sadly the SSPX is not doing doing so anymore, or only in a very weak and half-hearted way. Please pray for Fr Ballini.

  • For those unaware, "the combat for the Faith" is the phrase we are preferring to signify our resistance to a deal with modernist Rome.  You could think of the phrase as synonymous with the "resistance".  I have used it several times in this forum and other places, and it comes to us as a suggestion from France.

  • From a correspondent in Ireland comes the following encouraging news:

    .

There are currently three Resistance priests in Ireland. Fr. Bufe is joined by Fr. MacDonald, back from Australia, both of whom are in turn jonied by Fr. Giacomo Ballini (an Italian priest who had been stationed in Cork under Fr. Wailliez, and before that in Preston).

    .

At the 11.00 Mass in Cork yesterday, Fr. Ballini explained his departure to the faithful, and handed out docuмentation to better explain what is going on in the SSPX and why he felt that he had no choice but to leave. Fr. Wailliez is reported to have gone down to the chapel shortly afterwards in a rage to change the locks on the church (why would that be necessary?) and otherwise prove himself as vindictive as possible.

    .

Meanwhile, Fr. MacDonald offered Mass in Wexford yesterday for around 45 people, in the chapel currently used by the Resistance which was once used by Dom Marmion some 100 years ago. Three chapels: Wexford, Cashel (Tipperary) and Tralee (Kerry) are now lost to the SSPX and with the Resistance. This is in addition to the other Resistance chapels where Mass is regularly offered: Kesh (Fermanagh), Longford (where Fr. MacDonald will be offering regular Mass) and Dublin (at the Skylon Hotel, where Fr. Bufe will be offering Mass next Sunday at 10am).

    .

Remember to pray for Fr. Ballini, and pray that more priests and faithful will have the courage to stand up to the modernism of the neo-SSPX and do likewise.

  • Can it be Fr W. was unaware of Fr Balleini's intentions before Sunday?

Fr Wailliez takes over the Negombo, Sri Lanka, chapel on August 15th, where he will have to contend with millions of vindictive mosquitoes.

Remember that apart from the mosquito hordes, Cardinal Renjith, big pal of the SSPX, is only some 30kms or so away.

I prefer this term to 'Resistance'. The SSPX is dead or dying thanks to Menzingen so how can you resist a dead or dying body. It cannot be resurrected. Additionally they have given up the fight or the combat for the Faith, so it is therefore passed on to those who are dissociating or have disassociated themselves from SSPX.

Those who are using this phrase, such as myself, use it also in reference to those SSPX priests, who though with difficulty, are still fighting for the Faith.  It is not a matter of choosing sides, and as this latest development shows, there are still priests in the SSPX who are in the combat for the Faith.  It is a matter of supporting good priests no matter where they are, and there are still some in the SSPX.

So the term, as understood by those who coined it and use it, does not have anything to do with an affirmation that the SSPX is dead (that it is dying, but not dead).
