    Asunto: Destitución de Mons. Fellay

    Guatemala - 20- 6- 2012

    Sacking of Mgr. Fellay

Open letter to the fathers and faithful of SSPX of South America.

Much is being said about the serious crisis through which the congregation founded by Mons. Lefebvre is going, but few [are saying] and nothing is being done in a concrete way attacking the present disaster which we're suffering which is none other than Mgr. Fellay and his assistants. That is why I propose a petition in this and other continents asking for them to be removed from their positions due to their disobedience to the Founder, their immorality and abuse of authority. May the next chapter be simply for the election of a competent authority who has shown clear evidence of faithfulness to the fight for tradition.

    Matter:The Removal of Bishop Fellay

    Guatemala 6/20/12

Open Letter to Priests and faithful of the SSPX of South America

There is much talk of the grave crisis which the congregation founded by Archbishop Lefebvre is going through, but very little or nothing concrete is done to attack the source of the current mess we suffer, none other than M. Fellay and his assistants. Therefore I propose a campaign to gather signatures in this and other continents, asking  to remove them from their office because of their disobedience to the founder, his immorality and their abuse of authority. May the next chapter be only for the election of competent authority, who have given clear signs of loyalty to the struggle for Tradition.

  • I am reasonably sure that the translation should read "...their disobedience to the founder, their immorality..."

In his original letter -- the one that got him expelled -- P. Cardozo spoke of Bishop Fellay being motivated by "his political beliefs."  Does anybody know what he meant exactly ?  This would help the rest of us tremendously in our understanding of Menzingen, Krah, and what exactly has been happening the past few years (and when it was all planned, too).  I do not know very much Spanish.  Could one of the Hispanophone members here please write a letter to Fr. Cardozo asking him what he meant ?

    Thanks.

  •  Dear Pere Joseph:
In his letter, Father Cardozo says:

    Quote
Lefebvre. (*)

"The policies totally distant from the "yes, yes, no, no" of the Gospel and from the basis given by AB Lefebvre".

    Does this answer your question?

  • If +W has called for that same exactly thing twice in a row through Dinoscopus I guess it is possible.

What a dream that would be.

Maybe there was a problem in the translation that was posted on Cathinfo, but this is what I remember reading :

"2 º My disregard for the authority of Bishop Fellay, due his obstinacy and deviation from the principles of the founder, and for all who share his position to hand over Rome; my rejection to the position of Bishop Fellay founded on his political views deviated from the “Yes, yes- no, no” of the Gospel and also deviated from the principles given by Archbishop Lefebvre."

There seems to be a discrepancy between the two translations.  If there is merit to the first translation, then I am still eager to see if Fr. Cardozo could give more detail about the "political views" of Bishop Fellay.

  • Father Cardozo exemplifies what this Sunday's feast day is all about.  He is a true "John the Baptist."  And maybe that is what the remnant SSPX priests and bishops need to be as well.

Nativity of St. John the Baptist
double of the first class with a commom octave

"Lo, I have set thee this day over the nations and over kingdoms, to root up, and to pull down, and to waste, and to destroy, and to build, and to plant."

    Jeremias 1:10

May God give them the courage and strength they need to perservere in these dark times.

  • Who doesn't like St. John the Baptist?  And why wouldn't this saint whose octave we begin today be a beautiful model for a priest?  If it's a criticism of Father Cardozo, then one might as well criticize all good and faithful priests everywhere that speak out against modernism--the synthesis of all heresies.  St. John the Baptist did not compromise when it came to truth, and neither should the SSPX.

  • Sorry, Magdalena, it was me! I just came across an email which is being circulated here in Mexico containing Father's comments on our priests here. I can't translate it and let everyone read it because it contains such bad language. The priests here in Mexico are strongly against any sell-out to Rome but their sermons are not posted on youtube or even here because they're in Spanish which has less appeal globally. Fr. Cardozo calls them traitors, pharisees and a lot of other bad words. Now, that's not the spirit of St. John Baptist.

  • ...and if it's any consolation, I got a thumbs down for thanking my fellow translators for their corrections. I whip my translations out as fast as I can but obviously they suffer from the lack of revision. I'm glad of the help when people spot things and only wanted to express my thanks...

    Cristero,
Thank you for bringing that to my and the reader's attention.  I take back my lauds of Fr. Cordozo.  We still must hope, however, that our priests stand firm against the modernism of Rome, and the premature accord that appears to be in the works.  But along with that, we must pray that priests such as Fr. Cordozo apologize and reform their speech into a charitable correction in the manner of +Tissier.  This fight for maintaining Tradition is far from over, yet charity "covereth a multitude of sins;" whereas, hostility will only hurt the cause.   Once again, thank you and God bless.
