Recently I went to both a funeral mass and a baptism at the SSPX. I haven’t been to one at the SSPX in many years. My Father’s funeral mass, about 3 years ago, was by the SSPV and Father Collins baptized my daughter not too long ago.
My questions: Don’t the rubrics call for the prayers, before the coffin enters the church, to be spoken in Latin? Also, aren’t most of the prayers, at a baptism, in Latin? I’m fairly certain I’m right about this, but I want confirmation. (Pardon the pun) The ironic thing is is that I would have called Father Collins about this question, he was extremely knowledgeable about the mass and ceremonial rubrics.
At the SSPX funeral, the prayers were in English and at the baptism, many of the prayers were also in English.
