I'm stunned that Bishop Fellay couldn't hobble this guy.

He's so cluttered trying to be nice, he can't put enough thought together to push

back at all.

"The Anti-Defamation League" he should have interrupted and stated they are

enemies of the Catholic Church.

"The Pope being a disaster" Yes. He held to his opinion somewhat, but he didn't

give a list of what it was that makes Francis a disaster.

He could have used the quote about dogmas vs. love as an example of what makes Francis a disaster by setting up a false opposition.

That would have thrown that guy completely off balance.

Christians being persecuted? He beat him up over LeFebvre's condemnation of Muslims but didn't think to mention the chopping off of Christian's heads by Muslims.

So…frustating to watch this.

If you are the head of an organization like this and you are going to do a PR stunt.

You should be able to answer any question this guy hit him with and knocked it out of the park.

He's acting in the video like he's never encountered an argument against the SSPX's positions.

The acceptance of the excommunications is very telling.

This video alone, tells you how much trouble the SSPX is in internally.

You don't even need to know the shenanigans of the past few years.

It's interesting -- to say the least -- that an interview like this was done on the eve of a formal "acceptance" of the SSPX by Conciliar Rome.

Now +Fellay is going to be coming from a position of weakness, and will be all the more HUNGRY for that recognition from Rome. It really makes me wonder whose idea this interview was?

For +Fellay, this must have served somewhat as a wake-up call: just look at how The Modern World holds IN HORROR the true Catholic position on just about everything.

I agree with the previous posters that +Williamson is much more battle-hardened, wiser, and more experienced. He could have handled an adversary like this much better. Plus +Williamson says what he believes -- think back to that infamous interview +W gave which caused him to get into such trouble with +Fellay. At least +W was composed and in control during that interview. He knows what he believes, and is willing (and able) to explain it to you, in all nuanced detail.

He needs to be aware that when faced with a forceful advocate of political correctness, he has to come to the interview fully armed. He cannot defend his positions (assuming he now has any strong ones) with loads of excuses and unclear answers because nothing is gained from the interview other to reveal his weakness. The interviewer is throughout on the attack and Bp. Fellay replies with wet sponges.

I cannot imagine such an interview being set up without the Society being prepared to demonstrate its changed nature. Demolishing the interviewer would have been a no-no. It seems such an exchange is only possible where the Society is contrite and no longer on the front line politically and religiously. The intention is to show how weak some traditional figures are when up against the modern agenda. There is no fight in the bishop.

This whole video is shameful beyond words. Specially at the beginning of it, when asked about the Jews, Bishop Fellay adopts the attitude of a little boy trying to excuse himself, not even looking at the malicious journalist straight at the eye.

Pathetic. We are in desperate need of men of the caliber of Father Fahey to explain to the world what is it that we exactly mean when we say the Jews are the enemies of the Church of Christ.

I read the comments here before trying to watch the video - I did not last past the first 4 minutes. 4 minutes of him trying to back peddle and weasel was all I could take, for now at least. I will get over it and watch it at some point but man o man, what a sorry excuse for Archbishop Lefebvre's successor.
