Fr. Vegy is the marketing guru, who manages SSPX re-branding.
He was all over F+, taking photos with his German camera.

F+ was at the West coast Pro-life march the day before.
It was unprecedented PR, bringing him out like that.

I believe this program was put out by Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcaster. I doubt whether a hard-line attitude would have been productive with the general audience. Sure, its just my opinion, but I feel that Bp Fellay came out on top.

Fellay does everything for political reasons. The man has always put politics above truth, IMO. The word 'politician' is the one which best describes this cleric' essence. This whole sorry mess might have been avoided early on if the Society founder's own wishes had been followed. Lefebvre did not want one of his bishops to become Superior General. What is more, ABL would certainly not have approved of this bishop being elected for a second term.

A bishop worth his salt could have dismantled this interviewer with humor, politeness and brains. The important part being the brains.

Interviewer:
"But.ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity is a sɛҳuąƖ orientation, pedophilia is a crime."

The use of a brain would answer:

"They are both crimes against God and both sɛҳuąƖ dis-orientations and some ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs are also pedophiles and ephebophiles. Why do you think they would infiltrate the Church the way they have?"

Is Bishop Fellay on drugs or was he always only good using prepared statements by someone else? Much like Obama and his teleprompter.

Yes, the judaized, German media was bearing down on him, but this was why Bp. Fellay needed to counter his adversaries with the Truth.

Our Lord was consummate example of how to handle the "conflict interview".

And Bishop Fellay, being a direct descendant of the Apostles, needed to imitate his Master.

Pathetic. We are in desperate need of men of the caliber of Father Fahey to explain to the world what is it that we exactly mean when we say the Jews are the enemies of the Church of Christ.

I am 7 minutes in and I don't know if I can finish it because of this. I suspect this interview was accepted because they thought they could smooth things over and "correct" the media's "false interpretation" AND throw +Williamson under the bridge once again thereby making the SSPX a little more acceptable to the world. He is almost begging for the world to like us because it's all a big misunderstanding. It's embarrassing and my stomach is literally churning over it. I will likely finish it but in bits and pieces, I can't take a half hour at once.

I hesitate to criticize because it's easy to know what he should have said while we sit at our little keyboards at home. The keyboard warrior line is a hard one to see sometimes. But this is +Fellay's calling, these are the special graces he receives (as they are never remiss to remind us). With God such an interview can be well done, charitable but also filled with truth and strength. Or perhaps, with God such an interview would not take place since one would know the evil intentions behind them. Either way, it is a disappointing display and we know it is not God's fault.

In reality it IS a misunderstanding but it's one too profound to be corrected with squirms and buttering up. It's one that only Faith and grace can clear up.

I'd like to put my "Two-cents" into this... I don't think there's a question at all why Bp Fellay participated in this interview. All one has to do is look back seven years to the interview that was set up to bring down Bp Williamson once and for all (ha, ha). This was, as a whole, coordinated by the leadership of Menzingen. Remember "Krah-gate?" They knew exactly who these people were, and are. In this they passed the "Smell test" of the B'nai B'rith. Now Bp Fellay is now trying to pass the "Taste test" by appeasing to the whims of "Political correctness" rather that standing on the grounds of solid Principle. I haven't watched the video yet, but I believe from the comments here, it's another "Pass" towards the direction of Rome.

I'm looking about for a dictionary entry even more expressive than "shameful." I don't think "shameful" quite does Bp. Fellay justice. His simpering, deer-in-the-headlights response was beyond shameful. Of course, Sebastian, all but perched upon the SG's nose and staring malevolently into his eyes, starts things off with the Jews. +Fellay wilts like a flower in the hot sun.
I mean, my goodness, all the bishop said a couple of years ago was that the Jews had been enemies of the Church for centuries. The Church has declared nothing less from the beginning. Why did this 'leader of men' have to suggest that his remarks had created "unnecessary controversy?" Why did this SSPX commander and chief have to turn his own earlier words around, amending them to mean (incorrectly) that it was the Jews themselves who look upon the Church as an enemy. In other words, "It's not us, Mr. Sebastian sir, who view the Jews as enemies. No, no! it's the Jews who view us as enemies."

Yes indeed, he is like a "little boy" caught with his hands in the cookie jar, afraid to express and reaffirm what his own Church has taught since Her inception.

Newsflash -- the Archbishop would have handled this interview very differently -- more like +Williamson would handle it today if he were given the opportunity.

I hate to break it to the "Accordista" faction of the neo-SSPX, but +Fellay is none other than a sellout to the cause. He is *not* faithfully keeping the SSPX position of Archbishop Lefebvre. He is not his successor, not by any stretch of the imagination. Perhaps you can say that +Fellay controls +ABL's organization today. But that doesn't make him his "successor".

You can be an accordista and "want to try something different", but at least call it for what it is. A deer can't be the "successor", spiritual or physical, to a lion, not in any universe I'm aware of.

Just for starters, +ABL wouldn't have been ashamed of Church teaching on the Jews. And he would have hammered home Catholic doctrine at every opportunity, feeling no shame before the Modern World (represented by the reporter) which is swimming in every possible error.

I took this whole thing as a joke. He should have never accepted to be interrogated. This is ridiculous. It makes me angry.

Whimpering, thank you! That's the word I was looking for in my post but just couldn't think of it. Of course the interviewer didn't help since he cut off +Fellay before he could get out full sentences. But whimpering it certainly was.
