  • New Bishop Williamson Set of Sermons and Doctrinal Conferences

Many of you over the years have asked when I would have a more comprehensive set of Bishop Williamson's sermons and doctrinal conferences available.  Part of the challenge of running multiple businesses is that the timelines for things don't always go at the speed you want, only at the speed they may.

However, I am proud to announce that one of the objects that has been on True Restoration Press' timeline for sometime is near completion.
You can now pre-order this 7-CD set here.
It comes with some great incentives that add up to the full purchase price!

    - Stephen Heiner, True Restoration

  • This is certainly a noble effort but if I may be honest - isn't $250 rather steep a price? Many Traditional Catholic families are on a limited budget so how many can really afford this? Also, is there a profit being made on these CDs?

  • Yeah 250$ is extremely steep. I'd say 70$ max, and even that is a bit high.

  • Gentlemen

I can assure you - I do not have the large financial backing of the SSPX or any other similar organization that utilizes massive donations or free (like seminarians or brothers) labor.  I have to pay actual people to do audio post-production on sermons that were recorded on tape in the 90s.  We have people who pack and ship orders.

There are a few of us who are trying to get good information out.  The only way we can do that is by making enough of a profit on a given product to help finance the next project.  If you think there is a massive amount of profit being made in being a Traditional Catholic bookseller, may I refer you to TAN Books, who had to declare bankruptcy twice before being bought out?  We at TRP aren't anywhere near bankruptcy, but for anyone who thinks I'm traveling to Aruba on the "profits" of True Restoration, I'm happy to send you our full financials.  We break even or make a very modest profit in any of the 6 years we've been in operation.  It is a part-time hobby business for me - it's definitely not how I pay my rent or buy my groceries.  I own other companies for that.

Running a business is not a simple, easy, or inexpensive endeavor.  I am sorry that some think that it is.

The only other place you could have obtained these sermons or conferences before our release was from the Seminary in Winona, and I assure you that all of that content, at their prices, was significantly more than $250.  So, we're cheaper than the Seminary.  Add that to the fact that I'm including $250 of free incentives on the pre-order, and I would say this offer is a deal and a half.  And the numerous orders we've gotten in the 72 hours since we've announced speak to that.

    (steps down from soapbox)

  • Stephen,
Are these CDs so related so as to make it impossible to sell individual CDs? ~$35-$40 for ~80 minutes of audio might still be a lot for some, but it's certainly a much lower cost of entry than $250. Just a thought...

That's exactly it.  These aren't 80 minute audio CDs.  They are 360 minute MP3 CDs.  That might actually be part of the confusion for these gentlemen, but it says in the product description that this is an mp3 cd set.  Not a regular audio cd set.  Which means there is a ton more content.

We might look at selling them individually after the preorder and initial sale period.  $35-$40 is about the right price.

  • Consider it an investment! If I total what we spend on internet service, cellphone subscription, iphone apps, itunes, dvd rentals, etc., for the entire family (not to mention other subscriptions via internet), I believe our bills far exceed $250 per month.

Yeah... I'm aghast Stephen... you capitalist animal.
How dare you try to make a profit (just joking).

I will vouch for Mr. Heiner's MP-3 talks and interviews of Msgr. Williamson.

I bought one of his three volume sets two years ago and I listen to it all the time.
Its the best way to listen and learn from an authentic, teaching Bishop.

Our Lord said "... feed my sheep" and his Excellency does just that.
Msgr. Williamson is extremely interestingly, a great conversationalist and his undrestanding of Church Doctrine and the modernist crisis is profound.

If you can afford to buy it, you'll treasure it and not want to loan it out.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

Ah, yes. I'm well aware of the difference and completely skimmed past that in the description. A suggestion: "Over XX hours of _____" in the description.

Our household would be $50 -- that's just for Internet because we live in the country. Cable Internet & DSL aren't available here.

That's the problem with Apple's products -- sure, they're high quality, slick, etc., but you have to pay for all your apps. You get a lot more free apps on Android.

I have a Galaxy Tab full of apps, and I didn't pay a red cent for any of them.

I'm getting into App development, BTW.
