So, today was my second time to take the family to a Society Mass. We liked it. Again, I'm new to it, so there were a few basic things that Fr. McBride ironed out for me.
1.
FSSP: Old Church = good , New Church = not-so-good
SSPX: Old Church = good , New Church = bad
2. Criticisms of the Pope can be made, but not too excessively to the point where you demean his office. It is easy to get lost in that.
3. The different regions/districts of the Society usually have one exorcist, and no one knows who that exorcist is.
4. Even priests will be telling me that the Society is "out of the church" or is schismatic.
5. There may have been a prophecy in the 1600s or 1700s talking about this time in the Church, in which one bishop--perhaps Lefebvre--will stand his ground to preserve tradition.
They were all responses to questions I asked. So, Fr. didn't come out of the gates telling me these things. We also had a good laugh at Voris, whose tirade against the Society spawned right around the time when I decided to start taking my wife and kids to their Mass.

In any event, we had a nice time this past Sunday. I got to see the old building that they bought. It's an actual Society building. But it's falling apart in different ways. Namely, it needs a lot of money spent to repair its roof.
So, how do people raise money for this sort of thing, aside from rich old parishioners? The place really doesn't deserve to be allowed to fall apart. Have there ever been any successful fund raisers for this sort of thing?
