Let us stipulate, for the sake of argument, that all you say is true and that he is a hypocrite.

Does his hypocrisy mount a successful rebuttal of his principles? Can the subjective moral laxity of a teacher, in itself, and as probative/demonstrative agency, falsify the objective principles he teaches? The answer is no. If the principles are sound, the moral laxity is a scandal, but it cannot falsify the principles.

For example, our Lord said, "The scribes and the Pharisees have sitten on the chair of Moses. All things therefore whatsoever they shall say to you, observe and do: but according to their works do ye not; for they say, and do not."

If you know this man to be a hypocrite, pray for him, and perhaps confront him if you are in his orbit.

If you know his principles to be true, then affirm them.

The principles, I tell you, are true, and they have a multitude of enemies. The principles themselves are as hated in this world as our Lord Jesus Christ is hated. Therefore ad hominems are only the beginning of the persecutions to come.

Will you limit yourself to discussing the principles, or will you dig down and claw the man some more?
