I will not speak of Novus Ordo priests here, for by St. John Chrysostom's standard scarcely any Novus Ordo priest will be saved. I speak only of traditionalists priests. St. John Chrysostom was speaking at a time when all Catholic priests were traditionalist and it applies for all time. Today, people are totally accustomed to think that anyone who is a nice person will make it to heaven, so they take it as a given that all trad priests will go to heaven. Young men today go into the seminary because they like the job security, the adulation, the vestments, the music...…. but scarcely one of them realizes that they are putting their eternal salvation in great peril for thinking that way.
Today, most SSPX priest's are on the path to perdition and yet they think that they are saints. They think they are saints because they compare themselves to the world and at best to Novus Ordo priests, when they should be comparing themselves to the saints, like the Cure de Ars. (It is the same with traditionalists lay people, or should I say "traditionalist", they compare themselves to the world and they are saints, however, they as lay people will not be judged like priests).
