  • In a traditional Catholic society divorce would be illegal and even if he just ran off man would likely end up behind bars for child neglect.
True, but we don't live in a Catholic society.  In a Catholic society I'd be living with relatives and engaged in work for them or for charity through the Church.  I wouldn't have to concern myself with working in the world to keep a roof over my head, food, clothing, medical care, etc.  I was hoping for a serious discussion of today's reality.  Maybe this is the wrong place.  I'll move it to Women Only, but it would be good to hear from a married man whose daughters could possibly find themselves trying to save their souls without family or parish assistance.

  • So, how about a serious discussion of the role of the single woman in Tradition today?  Those too old for marriage and without vocation to sisterhood?  We do exist, after all.
Seraphina, I have been thinking about this, your previous post. It has been on my mind to respond but I haven't got my act together. There is so much to be said. I thought about the Women's section but it would be a shame to exclude the men from the discussion.

Wouldn't it be good to have a sort of Catholic Adoption Agency for women who are at loose and need a family to help care for?
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
