It seems that Frs Chazal, Picot, Valan,Suneel,McDonald,Salenave and Ballini are now members of a society called Marian Corps. The "SSPX" bit has been dropped.
This is perhaps the right thing to do if the aim is the continuation of Tradition and the maintenance of the TLM. This should be the aim of all the Traditional priestly groups. My reading of the situation in India, is that there is a rivalry/hatred between key faithful on both the SSPX and the Resistance sides, completely disproportionate to the actual numbers involved. I myself have got involved in this sort of fratricidal thing, which, in the past as far as I am concerned, was condoned by certain priests. Canvassing of the "other faithful", stories of plots and espionage and suchlike nonsense, all founded on insanity and the wretched caste system. We have been Catholics here for nearly 500 years but were Hindus before that for thousands, and the caste system is obviously in our genes.
I once asked the late Dr Cyril Andrade, the senior most Trad of India, why, among so many seemingly pious Catholics of India there was virtually no opposition to Vatican II. He answered that we had not got over our paganism.
"Marian Corps" may be the ideal name suited to a whole group of people fighting for the Church ( Just like Action Francaise, for example). but whether it is a right sounding name for a priestly group offering lay folk the Mass and sacraments, I'm not so sure. I wonder what other readers think?.
The ideal situation is that the old guard lay leaders of the two opposing sides in India be removed. And if there is no one to replace them, then the priests must get more involved in the day to day running. I'm speaking about the Indian priests of both the SSPX and the MC, all of whom I know and whom I am fond of.
