Thank you Cristero!  What a magnificent sermon!  God bless Bishop Tissier de Mallerais!  Would that we had a pope or a superior general who could articulate the Catholic Faith with such clarity and grace.

Curiously, the namesake of the SSPX, Pope St. Pius X, when he was elected pope, was reluctant to accept the task, for it was not something he was trying to achieve. Giuseppe Cardinal Sarto did not "campaign for the office of Pope." But he accepted it nonetheless, with a resolve to do the will of God.

What we received was a saint-Pope and the condemnation of Modernism, the "synthesis of heresies."

When the second Vatican Council went astray from the path laid out for it by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (who was part of the original preparatory commission that drew up the original Schema, which was in turn abandoned by the revolutionaries at the very start of the Council -- an act of conspicuous treason!) and his fellow diligent workers, AML did not attempt to establish an alternative Church, or to "run for Pope," or to start a movement. But when push came to shove, he was the only one of 250 bishops who built a seminary for the formation of traditional priests.

What we received was a conservatory for Sacred Tradition, even as post-Modernism went around ravaging Holy Mother Church like a roaring lion.

When Bishop Tissier de Mallarais was chosen for his office by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre he was not looking for the opportunity of being consecrated bishop. He did not desire the higher responsibility and heavier demands of the office. And like +Lefebvre and +Sarto before him, he courageously rose to the occasion, nonetheless.

What will we receive this time........... history has yet to be written!
