That happened a long time ago since it got a whiff of all those widows' funds intended for spiritual purposes. And buying your way into heaven has always been a central feature of all religions. Glib warnings about needles and camels can like all other warnings be easily set aside when prelates and priests encounter earthly gold!

So true, the building up of treasures in Heaven, are supplanted by building larger portfolios on earth.
