  • From a private source within the xSPX.

Menzingen has suffered internal "push-back" (from priests and faithful) on Bp. Fellay's Francis "Fools-Day" meeting.

In assessing the damage, Fr. Schmidberger and Bp. Fellay have determined a "new spin" is needed to explain the close relations between the xSPX and the "Head of newChurch".

The nuance being put out by Menzingen in their talking points to the District Superiors and Priors is that Francis will not mandate the xSPX's acceptance of Vatican II.

This point will be trickling down to the pews.
Menzingen wants you to believe that "they are special".

They are in newChurch, but still keep outside privileges.

And there are now many neo-trads within the xSPX ranks that will buy it.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Well I sure hope it's true that they are getting a lot of pushback.

What happened to the SSPX knowing they are Catholic, knowing they are in the Church, preaching necessity and supplied jurisdiction and not caring what Modernist said otherwise?

This whole thing makes a mockery of all they have stood for all this time. They are angling for a position that in reality they already hold. Just without the public recognition, power, prestige, money...

:scratchchin: I think I answered my own question.
