Note: Anyone who gets cranky when they see my posts with limited width
in the text lines can just take a deep breath and see, that in a page like this
one, where global width limits are expanded due to a large width item, it is
my text alone, with local limits (about which you are so prone to grumble),

In this article we would like to focus on just one of the major symptoms of the internal rot in the SSPX: namely, that both the SSPX leadership and communication channels have been busy for some time mixing poison with truth on an almost daily basis. Yes, there is a steady string of dangerous, misleading commissions and omissions regularily coming from SSPX hierarchy. These range from clearly-erroneous opinions, down to those that are (merely) misleading (but still technically true).
What is this poison TrueTrad keeps talking about, anyway?
When we refer to the SSPX leadership’s “poison”, we are including anything that will harm the faith of the priests and the laity, even if it is “only” an opinion. For example, two of the many poisonous opinions in the top SSPX hiearchy are these:
"There is much to praise in Benedict XVI [when he reigned, they did this regularly]; we are more or less on the same side with him." (This is just how the nine dead compromise “societies” talk!)
"The Conciliar Church is in general getting better and better; the conciliar hierarchy is basically good, and many of the bishops in fact are almost traditional."
This is why we think these (and many other new-SSPX) ideas are poison: The laity and most of the SSPX priests accept without reflection, the statements of the SSPX leadership. When the laity and priests hear over and over from “trustworthy” SSPX sources (like Bishop Fellay) that everything is getting better, they gradually change their framework / viewpoint. These new (false) SSPX opinions then become principles which become fixed in the laity and priests. The same thing happens regarding the rest of the SSPX leadership’s liberalism, e.g., minimizing the errors of Vatican II.
Even if (hypothetically) there would never be a deal with Rome, the new (false) SSPX optimism destroys the defenses of the priests and the faithful. When they begin to believe (as they are believing, more and more) that "the conciliar errors are not as bad as the SSPX used to say they were" and that "the conciliar hierarchy is fairly close to Tradition and is open to it”, the priests and faithful predictably lower their guard and are more open to the influence and errors of the conciliar hierarchy (as well as more open to the SSPX making a deal with Rome).
Please note:
We have only recently begun compiling this list of poison. (We started in December, 2012.) Much more is yet to come, as we docuмent both the continuing stream of poison every week, as well as older statements.
We are not claiming every priest in the SSPX is infected by the poison we docuмent below. Thank God, most rank-and-file priests seem okay (with some exceptions); it is the top leadership that is most infected!
So far, we have docuмented 77 instances of poison. However, many of these doses of poison touch on more than one topic. For instance, a certain quote from Bishop Fellay might regard Pope Benedict, AND the crisis in the Church, etc. Therefore that quote would fall under different topics below.
A person might argue that some of the examples we give below are "overly critical". Even if that were true, the large list as a whole is not dismissable by any careful soul.
Okay, Show me the Poison!
Note: If you have family/friends who are skeptical that there really are problems in the SSPX now that "a deal is [supposedly] dead", please consider emailing some of these poisonous statements to them.
