Martin Dougherty (Manuel Chavez on CathInfo) just called me, requesting that I post a prayer request on CathInfo for his mother.
He just received a call that his mother was in a car accident. All he knows is that her car was "totaled".
He is heading to the hospital now; apparently they wouldn't discuss her condition over the phone (!?)
I told him to focus on getting to his mother and taking care of her, and that I would post the prayer request on CathInfo.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.
Mary, Help of Christians, pray for us.

We are at the emergency room now, awaiting x-ray results. She is in pain, but I thank God that she is alive. Thank you all for your prayers. My mom thanks you, too.

I hope she is okay.

She suffered some strained ligaments in her neck, and in her right leg, but there are no broken bones. We're monitoring her at home.
Thank you all for your prayers. Thank you, Matthew, for posting this. God bless you and yours.

Great news....thank God it's not more serious.

Praise the Lord.
I hope and pray that there is no hidden internal damage.

I hope and pray everything will be okay. I've heard that damaged ligaments are worse than broken bones because bones can heal themselves and recover their strength. However with ligaments, depending on the damage can require numerous surgeries and even then the range of movement may never be the same. I of course am no medical doctor. My prayers are with your mother and your whole family.
