  • I am surprised that no one has asked more questions about this. Also, I'm surprised that this very serious accusation is being pretty much accepted as truth and yet all we have so far to go with are only 4 words: 'Hard Core Porn Pablo' from one single person.

Matthew: "You don't allow an evil associate to LITERALLY show pornography to your seminarians"

I don't know what the truth is. I also don't know who Maria Angela Grow is. I think Pablo is very problematic to say the least and there is a temptation to open oneself to the possibility that this might be true but that could not possibly be the right Catholic attitude, could it? Not until there is more evidence.

Either way, this is very serious. Either this happened or it was fabricated. I hoped you would say that what was involved was an indecent picture or something of that sort. That would not be good at all but accidents can happen (as I said, more than once I opened links posted on Cathinfo that were not good in this respect). The words "Hard Core Porn Pablo" point to something entirely different with virtually no room for an accident.

So, I do hope you take the time to answer the following:

-How many seminarians were involved? One? More?
-Did you hear this directly from him/them? or was it a second or even third hand accusation?
-Do you think someone would step up and corroborate what you are saying? (if I was a seminarian and this happened to me, I think it would be an obligation to warn others of the danger)
-Was anything done to alert the Priests? If so, how did they react?

Well, I could have more questions but I'll leave it there for now. Maria Angela, I'm just very concerned about this and I hope you can help everybody reading have a clearer picture of what happened. Thank you.

Such a charge should not have been made unless it was directly witnessed by the person making it, and a clear description of what took place given.

If this kind of charge is later mitigated or disproven, there would be no coming back from the resulting damage to one's good name. Very serious business, all around.

  • This comes from one seminarian. I do not know the details as to what specifically it was. I mean, would a female want to ask details of a young man? I have no reason to doubt it. This young man left and transferred to the French seminary, so that tends to back up that he had serious reason. I have no reason to doubt this young man, and reason to doubt Pablo's word. I do not have proof that would stand up in court. But then, if it is a strong probability. , then young men should not go there and risk their innocence. Had they closed the seminary, I would never have said it in a public forum. But with many other corroborated incidents, it makes a difference. Frs Pfeiffer and Hewko were not there. I do not know if Fr Voigt was there or if he could verify this. I would not ask the young man to do such a thing. If he decided to do it on his own...Nor do I know if he was the only one or not. Others left, but whether for that reason...I can not say.  My only concern is for new seminarians. Once exposed, that is in your mind forever.

  • The problem with such a vague accusation about porn is that it could be serious or it could be a prude complaining because someone forgot to remove the clothing adds from the Sunday paper.

    good point.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...
