  • A seminarian formerly at avrille but transferred to finish his (secular) priestly training at the monastery of Santa Cruz of Bishop Aquinas, has received his first major orders.
Here are pictures of the event as a slideshow on youtube

There are also some minor orders which were received by the local monks.

  • Bishop Thomas Aquinas

I believe this seminarian is the same individual who came to TX last spring to assist with a Chrismal Mass done by Bp Williamson.

Thank you.  My fear was this was a Duarte-line bishop.  I have no knowledge of the locations identified and I didn't see the name of the bishop listed.  It's always good to see that there is another valid priest offering the Mass.

  • Bishop Thomas Aquinas was consecrated by +Williamson about a year or two ago. Where have you been, man?

If this is the same fellow - It looks like him. - who assisted during Easter, then his name is Rodrigo. He seems quite professional liturgically. He conducted everything so well there were no mishaps recalled. He even acted as MC2 for +Zendejas consecration, and there again I say he did an amazing job with what I would call "mostly raw recruits". I hope he will be a great priest, it was a pleasure working with him!

If you want to speak to him you need either Spanish, French, or maybe Latin... or a translator.

Read my post.  As soon as MaterDominici told me who the bishop was, my fears were eliminated.  Perhaps you need to take a "Reading for Comprehension" class.

So you didn't recognise Bishop Z and Thomas Aquinas? Both of whom are in the photos.

No.  I didn't.  My eyesight is just not good enough to differentiate the faces on most photos--and it is even worse trying to recognize individuals on a computer screen, especially people I don't know intimately.  I really need a good 5x7 paper photo headshot to definitely recognize a particular individual.  I rely on captions on photos to know who the photos are pictures of.  I don't read Spanish or Portuguese (not actually sure which language was on the video) so I didn't bother trying to pick out names if any were provided.

MaterDominici understands that not everyone on CathInfo are striplings with perfect eyesight and have perfected the art of facial recognition and was kind enough to simply answer the question.  I find the discourteousness of many whelps on this forum distasteful.

I once read that when Traditional Catholic bishops get together in the States ( and perhaps Mexico also?) they routinely conditionally ordain/consecrate one another to ensure certainty of their Holy Orders. This practice is borrowed from the Eastern Orthodox clerics who do such because of the various claims and counter-claims that affect their various groups.

I once read that this was suggested but I've never heard of any bishops doing so.

Let's hope that this practice was/is undertaken. It will be a safeguard against doubtfully administered sacraments.

  • This was Br. Miguel.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

    Thank you for posting, wilders...

At the Feast of All Saints, the diaconate of the now deacon Rodrigo da Silva took place under the hands of Mons.Thomas Aquinas, bishop and prior of the Monastery of the Holy Cross.

With joy, we inform you that the priestly ordination will take place on December 23rd. Deacon Rodrigo will be the first priest of the Priestly Society of the Apostles of Jesus and Mary.
