  • Bishop Williamson celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation for the Resistance and gave a brilliant sermon. Well worth your time. This man is so brilliant.

  • I don't know much about the traditional Confirmation ritual, but why does he slap the face of those being confirmed? I don't think this happened when I got confirmed in the novus ordo.

It symbolizes the hardship Christians will face in the Christian life. It's no longer required in the Novus Ordo.

  • We were there, and it was excellent.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

  • Another question:

Does the "Resistance" have professed religious within it. I saw one nun was there but she could have been a hermit. I cant find any website of the resistance other than Cathinfo, so how would someone wanting to live devoted to God join up. I am also surprised the Resistance is not in my country for historical reasons. Seems to be mostly USA.

Yes. The resistance has religious in it. There are several monasteries around the world and one Carmel in Germany.

This thread is a good example of why you should put a DATE in
the title of a thread that announces a YouTube video or a sermon,
or any other event that occurred:

Latest from Bishop Williamson, Excellent sermon

That could be any sermon from 2006 to the PRESENT,
whenever that is, but up to and including the last post, which
    changes every time someone posts.

The previous post when I made this was Nov. 6th, but now, after
I make this post, it changes to Nov. 9th, 3 days later.  But the
OP was made on Nov. 5th an the sermon is from Nov. 1st.

The thread title would have been better saying:

Nov. 1st, 2013 - Bishop Williamson, Excellent sermon

"confirmed" in the NO? You just answered your own question....they've changed almost everything haven't they? That incl confirmation....The NO doesn't believe in the Church Militant actually being militant so how can they "confirm" anyone as a "soldier of Christ"?

  • Comment on H.E.'s sermon.  The large majority of Traditional Catholics do not WANT to think, read, or study.   Like all gifts of God, the graces received in Confirmation are beneficial to those who exercise them.
