  • Who is Rev. Mother Mary Joseph?
The Angelus: Mother Mary Joseph, what are your connections with potential vocations?
    .
Mother Mary Joseph: As the Mother Superior and acting Novice Mistress of the Franciscan Sisters of Christ the King,

The Franciscan Sisters of Christ the King, formerly known as the Franciscan Sisters of Oregon, are an order of
religious sisters founded by Fr. Eugene N. Heidt on February 2, 2000. It was established in the footsteps of Saint Francis
with the aim of educating young people in accordance with traditional catholic values.[1] The motherhouse and novitiate
are located in Kansas City, Missouri. As of 2003, the Superior General is Mother Mary Joseph.

  • Featuring diocesan priest, Fr. Sean Kilcawley (famous for his Theology of the Body):

    "JPII, we wuv you!!"

I could only stand to watch the first 39 minutes of the video. Basically, Fr. Kilcawley supports the methodology of Pope Francis, when it comes to teaching  about marriage. He says that Pope Francis teaches that a good homily always starts with proclaiming Christ's saving love, and that Christ wants to enter into our life and accompany us in all aspects of our life. Fr. Kilcawley further describes his view of Francis' teachings, which is that you move to catechesis, where we learn things like the 7 sacraments, the ten commandments, and the teachings of the Church. And then you move to doctrinal and moral conclusions.

Well, what Fr. Kilcawley doesn't point out is that Pope Francis doesn't ever teach any sound moral conclusions. Instead, Francis stays with the "Jesus loves you and wants to accompany you" bit, and it stops there.

Fr. Kilcawley describes JP2's teaching on Theology of the Body as also be about "accompaniment" and that the goal of his audiences on the ToB is all about accompaniment, without directly teaching on the topic but by turning attention to the roots from which the topic springs. He actually says that.

It's fine, IMO, to point out the roots of an issue, but the avoidance of "direct teaching of a topic" has, IMO, led to conciliar Catholics thinking that they can basically do whatever they want. So the methodology of Fr. Kilcawley and JP2 and Pope Francis doesn't actually work on a practical level. Not a surprise.

Evidently, the Neo-SSPX is fine with this sort of nonsense.
"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

  • The email also came through entitled “BEST ANGELUS PRESS CONFERENCE EVER!!!”

I copied and pasted that direct from the email.

Apparently 13 year old girls write their emails.
Please disregard everything I have said; I have tended to speak before fact checking.

  • If you had listened to all of it you would have heard that the old traditional Catholicism
teaches from the "Bible of Suck" -- don't do that, do this instead.
He teaches from the "Bible of Love".
    .
    And there's more ...
    .
Regarding "Gender Identity" John Paul II avoids all the CONTROVERIAL issues, and
goes to the core which is the body's relationship with God, rather than with other
    humans.
    .
I guess he does not want to tell anybody why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed.
    .
This reminds me of the day in 1968, when a Protestant minister started to give the
sermon at a Catholic Mass on Sunday.   My mother immediately got up and started
walking toward the exit and the rest of the family followed.
    .
In the schedule of the "Conference on Catholic Tradition", I did not see anything about
the heresies in Vatican II (religious liberty, ecuмenism, collegiality, etc).
    .
Does "Catholic Tradition" have a NEW meaning now ??
    .
Is Bishop Williamson going to speak at the conference ??  He is very traditional.

  • Why are they having a Novus Ordo Priest speak at their conference , more blending I suppose. Pretty sad state of affairs they couldn't find a Traditional Priest to speak on the same subject.

    Good question.

  • This video, from 2015, looks like a preview of what Fr Kilcawley is going to say at the conference:
    .

    ,
    He starts with a prayer:
"Heavenly Father, we invite you into this space, ask You to send your Holy Spirit upon us,
to bind us to Our Lord, Jesus Christ, that every thought, word and work of ours, may
begin with You, and through You be happily completed,"
    .
The main theme is that people who commit sins of impurity, need to know that Jesus
    loves them.
    ,
He quotes from Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II, several times
    .
Note. This is called a "Conference for Catholic Tradition".

I don't understand why the "Jesus loves you" theme is so prevalent with the Novus Ordo conciliar Catholics. Fr. Kilcawley says in the video..."If you think you are unlovable, then you don't know Our Lord." It's all about how Jesus loves everyone, but what about our love for Our Lord? They don't talk about how to develop love for Our Lord, but rather they harp on "Jesus loves you" in a self-centered sort of way. I think that at some point we have to stop focusing on ourselves, and focus on Our Lord, and the Holy Trinity.

I haven't watched the entire video, but will try to do so today. It's useful to see how modernists think. It seems that Fr. Kilcawley wants to know Truth, but he is going about it in the wrong way. It is a self-centered way. Can sins of impurity really be conquered by focusing so much on self, rather than God?

I had the same reaction.  Even his opening prayer reminds me of the way Protestants start their speeches.
It's an emotional Faith for the modernists.  They have to feel loved.  Emotions are so important to them.
Suffering is horrible for them.  I found the whole video mushy and without meaningful advice.

It is so that you can live like the devil, while pretending that the merciful God overlooks it.

A world which hates God (and a worldly Church which wants to be loved by a world that hates God, and an SSPX which wants to be loved by a Church that wants to be loved by a world that hates God) will incur the consequences of that enmity.

Isaiah 5:20 - "Woe to you that call evil good, and good evil: that put darkness for light, and light for darkness: that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter."

In 20 years, the SSPX clergy routinely will be giving similar conferences to that of Fr. Kilcawley.
Rom 5: 20 - "But where sin increased, grace abounded all the more."

I dunno about 20 years from now, there was that Lenten “mission” in St Mary’s that the SSPX released ... the theme was happiness. The priest routinely referred to himself as “just a chubby priest,” talked about sharing old time stories about a fellow priest, and nonchalantly talked about “oh, yeah, Our Lady knew”.
This priest won’t phase anyone, because the SSPX doesn’t give much different already.
