The ordinary people who attend the SSPX are not “members” so far as I know. Wouldn’t each person have to be individually evaluated according to his connection to the SSPX in order to excommunicate them?  Isn’t excommunication for individuals, not for entire organizations?  There is some other term used when the Pope shuts down or does not recognize a particular society. If that happens to the SSPX, they’d go back to their former status. I don’t see where it kept many people away.

No, you can excommunicate people "ipso facto" by force of law simply for committing certain actions.  Just as there's an excommunication in place for, say, assisting with an abortion or laying violent hands on a priest, the pope could issue "ipso facto" excommunication, reserved to, say, the bishop of your diocese, for assisting at Mass at an SSPX chapel  If they went back to their pre-2013 (pre-Bergoglian status), where Rome would no longer grant jurisdiction for Confessions or marriages, even that would cause a 20% drop in their numbers, but an excommunication would very likely result in 60%+ defection by the laity.

The film "The Jew Suss" explores how the jew encourages their marks to indulge in lavish spending, after which they will provide "solutions" on how to finance their projects.

It is difficult not to think of this when looking at the massive projects embarked upon by the SSPX.

Here are three which I know about in France

  • The Restauration of Notre Dame de la Consolation in the 8th arrondissment in Paris - 2.4 million euros

Interesting ... i did not know this.  I'll have a look.  This would fit perfectly with my hypothesis.

Krah and Jaidhof, with all their big bucks ... didn't just pay for these project outright, but simply made contributions and gave them some "backing".  We have tht $50 million + seminary, the $25 million chapel at St. Mary's, and even the SSPX chapel in my area are in over their heads and struggling due to imprudent spending.

This forces the SSPX to "keep up their numbers", since they're stretched so thin that even a 15% drop in collection revenues could be catastrophic for them.  And, with pressure to keep the numbers up, they're likewise pressured to ... not drive people away for little things like, say, wearing mini-skirts to Mass or other such Pharisaical trivialities.  That's the same reason the Bogus Ordo refuse to condemn birth control from the pulpit, since that would impact their revenue stream.

Then, if Bergoglio's "Mercy" to SSPX caused an artificial swelling of their numbers on top of it ... this could be the old double-whammy, where due to the Krah backing and the bloated numbers, if they pull both rugs out from underneath them, they're likely finished as an organization.

If that was Berg's "long game", then, if he pulls if off, I would tip my hat out of respect and say, "Well played, Bergoglio.  Well played, Sir."

Krah / Jaidhof after SSPX numbers drop by 25% after consecrations ...

+Fellay ... "Krah, help us.  We perish." (cf. Matthew 8:25) ...
Krah ...
