  • In Reenascreena, west Cork, Ireland took place the blessing of the new resistance chapel by Bishop Faure yesterday (All Saints)

There were about 70-80 people present as well as Fr. Ballini, Fr. MacDonald and Fr. Frances Gallagher.

Everything well very well and a great day was enoyed by all.

The blessing was followed by Mass, then lunch, and Confirmations and benediction in the evening.

The Bishop will be saying Mass tomorrow in a famine graveyard to commemorate the victims of this tradegy.

I will try to upload photos now also, but wanted to post this up first.

The chapel blessing represents an important step in the establishing of the resistance in Ireland, as we have not hitherto fore had a chapel of our own.

Not to change the subject, but for those who might be interested -- this photo contains an example of tradition in construction. It's one of the best examples that "tradition" (from practices used for hundreds of years) has in the building industry.
    .

    .
I'm referring to the two horizontal wood members you can see at the top of the photo. Those are called "collar ties" and they have a longstanding history. From the standpoint of engineering they do not compute, and if it were up to an engineer they would not be included in the design of the roof framing. But collar ties have been used traditionally for many centuries, being found in old European buildings, and have been used as well in America since builders and carpenters came from Europe to work in America.
    .
I don't see any structural ridge member although there could be one concealed above the white panels among purlins where hopefully there is insulation, too. Ireland gets cold. Lacking a structural ridge the roof would be less durable and less sturdy. (The ridge member has a purpose related to the use of collar ties.)
    .
For the good of the Resistance Catholics using this new chapel, I hope it endures and serves them well.

  • The tall, thin, older, balding priest is Fr. Francis Gallagher.

Glad to see him join the Resistance!

Presumably Bishop Faure has conditionally ordained him (I.e., the SSPX never did)?

  • Fr Francis Gallagher was ordained by +Williamson in 1993: http://stas.org/sites/sspx/files/v050_sum1993.pdf
    This is a common misunderstanding:
There are 2 Fr. Francis Gallaghers.
The one you reference was indeed ordained by +BW (but he is not the one in the pics above).
The Fr. Francis Gallagher pictured above with Bishop Faure was a priest of the Diocese of Peoria (IL) at that time.
I have spoken with him personally on the phone as recently as last month, and at that time, he had not been conditionally ordained by a certainly validly consecrated bishop.
He did mention he was "conditionally ordained" by a certain sedevacantist Bishop (Frank Slupski), but even many sedes dispute the validity of his consecration (and consequently sacraments), in light of the limited information pertaining to his alleged consecration.
To his credit, Fr. Gallagher desires conditional ordination (and even wanted it while in the SSPX, but Bishop Fellay refused it).
So the question remains: Has Bishop Faure (or any of the other Resistance bishops) conditionally ordained him?
He is certainly willing, and will be a great asset for the Resistance.

  • Sean--thanks for the correction and for the information.   If you hear anything about a sub conditione ordination, please let me know.

Thank you, it's nice to know that. You've got a nice size chapel there. I hope it's big enough for your growing group!

There seem to be enough priests.  Why does a priest from the Philippines come over to Ireland to stand in for Fr Macdonald when the latter  visits Australia?
