I still don't exactly understand what has changed in principle in 2012 from 1988.
Illusions still alive,
by the Abbe Regis de Cacqueray
Benedict XVI in his homily of April 5, 2012 for the Chrism Mass, recalled that the word of the teaching Church is using to transmit with correctness in this message of faith. Our first reaction upon reading this exhortation, is to celebrate its interest in education law and deep. However, the pope immediately characterizes the material to be transmitted by the teaching Church. Alas, this is always the same!
"The texts of Vatican II and the Catechism of the Catholic Church are the key instruments that tell us so authentic that the Church believes from the Word of God. And, of course, also, the whole treasure of docuмents that Pope John Paul II gave us, and which is still far from being operated until the end, one of them. "
He is obviously telling to note that references to "the word of the teaching Church" cited by Benedict XVI and still remain only those of Vatican II, the Catechism of the Catholic Church and docuмents of John Paul II. The pope sees it not always the calamitous consequences of the new religion which was set up for half a century in the Church? Cardinal Ratzinger had he not expressed his deep concern for the sad state where reduced Peter's boat? Why then plead again and again of these recent texts that have caused the misfortune of Catholics?
It is true that our hope was - it still - that the pope, at some point, be forced to trace effects to the cause, that is to say, the post-conciliar disaster at the Second Vatican Council. But in this sermon for the Chrism Mass, one comes to question his perspective on reality in the current landscape of the Church. See it for what it really is, torn by heresies and an ever more brazen victory of the spirit world? We doubt it because it also says: "Whoever looks at the history of the post-conciliar, can recognize the dynamics of true renewal, which often took unexpected forms in movement full of life and making it almost tangible inexhaustible vivacity of Holy Church, the presence and effective action of the Holy Spirit. "
We do not know, exactly, what these movements are full of life that distinguishes the Pope in the post-conciliar. As for us, we find the contrary extinction and programmed death, lack of vocations, religious congregations and institutes prestigious. We are witnessing the disappearance of entire parishes and dioceses. Populations have once again become pagan, children are not baptized. And it is certainly not the highly publicized rallies, style WYD or gatherings that require charismatic illusion! Even if they stood in penance and fervor - and this is not the case - they are unable to replace the patient work of Christianization of the people who was led by the parish priests of old.
It must be said. Pope Benedict XVI remains in deep and serious illusions. The first is to believe these movements perennial whose unexpected forms are actually those of a degenerate Christianity enough. The second is to believe still, and obstinately, that the teachings of the council and the post-conciliar magisterium can serve as light in the night are plunged minds when they make it darker than ever.
As for us, we must continue to be nourished by the pure faith and, therefore, challenge us like the plague of the novelties introduced by Vatican II and by the popes who followed the council. It is faith which is our greatest treasure and we must stand against anything that might diminish or jeopardize.
