Inthissign is one of the priests' web sites.  We are trying to post every talk by the priests and do a transcript for each just as fast as possible.  I'm getting requests for transcripts -- more talks -- but one problem is that it seems when the priests visit somewhere, I guess everyone figures someone else is recording them and the end result is that no one records so we don't get all the talks. Many people want more from Fr. Chazal.  Now that Fr. Hewko has left we are getting requests for his talks as well.  

May we request that if you have a resistance group, or you know one or more of these priests are coming your way, could you PLEASE designate someone to record them????  Maybe you could all chip in a buy a decent recorder and leave it somewhere with someone assigned to record and a backup person.  And I say "decent" recorder only because if you have one that has a device on it that eliminates sound other than the person speaking, it sure makes it easier to transcribe the talks and digital recorders are the best of course.  We need to hear it loud and clear, especially for Fr. Chazel who mentions French names and places quickly and Fr. Hewko who is soft-spoken. If the recorder could be near the priest, even better!  

Also, if anyone knows how to extract audio from video could they please tell me how to do it.  There are videos on YouTube that people want transcripts for and our software takes audio only.  A while back I think someone posted how to do this but I cannot remember.  

Thanks everyone for whatever help you can give us and these priests.  Please remember that many, many people rely on the English transcripts to translate into other languages so it's vitally important that we get the talks transcribed ASAP.  

Some people are also asking for transcripts of old sermons from last spring/summer to see how this all began.  We are trying to do those as well, as they seem to help newcomers understand what's going on, so you'll find a mix on inthissignyoushallconquer with the most current taking precedence.

If anyone wants to transcribe, please PM me.  We can mentor you but be advised all work is done for free.  All you have to buy is headphones and a footpedal (you obtain; we don't sell but check with us to see which kind of footpedal you need).  If you're a fast and accurate typist, we can fill in the blanks that you may not know and get it in proper form.  You will learn quickly.  It's not that hard and yes, we have a cheat sheet!!!  You can work on some of the shorter, older sermons if you prefer until you feel comfortable or a particular priest if you develop an ear for him.  You can practice on already transcribed sermons to help develop your ear.  Proficiency comes with time but it DOES come if you keep at it.  Our software is safe, free, and extremely easy to use.  Any current or former medical transcriptionists would be especially useful if you have the time since you're used to expander programs (if you don't know what that is, don't sweat it. It just makes typing easier and faster but it is not necessary to use one.)
