  • Just think of all that's happened in 2015.

    * +Faure consecrated.
    * SSPX basically commits to never consecrating even 1 more bishop without Papal approval
    * SSPX Argentina deal with Rome
    * Year of Mercy; SSPX given faculties for confessions from Dec 8, 2015 - Dec 8, 2016
    * All the stuff Pope Francis has said and done
    * It comes out that SSPX likely has a deal on the table, still in the works
    * +Faure does a 3 week confirmations/conference circuit in the US
    * +Williamson gives 2 high profile confirmations/conferences in the US in June/July.
    * Fr. Pfeiffer embraces Ambrose Moran and then quietly and quickly dismisses him (if he indeed dismissed him at all!) Huge scandal ensued after Ambrose simulated "mass" at several locations, and possibly is still doing so at present!
    * Fr. Voigt left the Boston, KY group and was subsequently condemned by them.
    * Fr. Chazal also left Boston, KY after he publicly condemned Ambrose Moran as a fraud
    * Fr. Voigt wrote an open letter delineating the problems with Pablo, Fr. Pfeiffer, and the Boston, KY seminary in general.
    * Boston KY began a renewed slander campaign against +Williamson, +Faure, Fr. Zendejas, Fr. Garcia, and CathInfo.
    * In general, Boston, KY imploded this year; the influence and numbers of this small group are only a fraction of what they were just 1 year ago. So they were down to 2 priests (down from 4 priests only 1 year ago)
    * They did add 1 more priest very recently, for a total of 3.
    * Toronto, Canada and other locations have cut off Fr. Pfeiffer completely. Many blogs and fora no longer post/carry/support "The Recusant" as the periodical closely tracks the downfall (and loss of relevance) of the group he propagandizes for (namely, Boston KY).

    Fr. Zendejas officially joined the Resistance 1 year and almost 2 months ago. Just look at what he alone has done in the past 14 months!

    * Stella Maris Chapel, the first Resistance "priory" purchased.
    * 2 schools started (CT and TX).
    * He is saying Mass in Philadelphia as well now
    * Fr. Garcia joined him
    * Weekly Mass is being said in at least 3 chapels (2 in TX, 1 in CT, not sure about other places)
    * Father is doing all the administrative homework -- setting up 501(3).C organizations, LLCs, etc. to allow for proper growth and operations. This is the priest who made the priory/school/retreat house of Ridgefield, CT what it is today (or should I say, what it WAS a few years ago! Today it's only a shell of its former self)
    * Father's written sermons are now found at least 2 places online: St. Dominic's chapel website, and another blog called "The Blue Paper".

  • From Matthew: Fr. Pfeiffer embraces Ambrose Moran and then quietly and quickly dismisses him (if he indeed dismissed him at all!)

    My response: Fathers Pfeiffer and Hewko announced that they are not associating with Ambrose, who has been dismissed. Why question this dismissal?

    From Matthew: Huge scandal ensued after Ambrose simulated "mass" at several locations, and possibly is still doing so at present!

    My response: The Mass in Denver was said without Father's approval, acknowledgment or permission. Father Pfeiffer will not approve of Ambrose offering Mass in the mission sites.

    It has been an interesting year, to say the least. I am hoping for a better year in 2016, but in order to make it happen, it seems that I will need to have a more active part in the future of the Boston seminary...

  • In other words, lots of personalised independent apostolates indicative of a very loose association or no association at all. It has become impossible to define what traditionalism is other than an attachment to some past but exercised idiosyncratically and with so many tortuous approaches to maintaining a continuity.

    It is terribly unwise to become partisan about any one approach (as it was with ABL's original initiative); the occasional sermon may have merit whoever gives it. We must not  put too much responsibility on anyone's shoulder in these trying times; we can forgive their mistakes if their overall goals are sound.

  • My responses in red:

    My response: Fathers Pfeiffer and Hewko announced that they are not associating with Ambrose, who has been dismissed. Why question this dismissal?

    Ah, let's see -- months of hard-core, in-your-face promotion of Ambrose Moran, including a website, videos/interviews, and many sermons by Fr. Hewko and Fr. Pfeiffer -- then a short, terse "We're not working with him anymore" after which nothing more is said on the matter.

    It doesn't work that way. The fact that various "missions" of the SSPX-MC are still inviting Ambrose to say Mass is PROOF that they didn't get the message. Well I'm here to tell you the message was WEAK and his heart wasn't in it.

    Combine this with the fact that Fr. Pfeiffer is in full-on attack mode on the the mainstream Resistance (+Williamson, +Faure, Fr. Zendejas, CathInfo, etc.) and the simplest of fools would be able to conclude Father's game: Fr. Pfeiffer would LOVE to have these entities out of the way, so people would be more desperate, and would come to Fr. Pfeiffer/Ambrose (and later, Bishop Pfeiffer) asking for help -- but not asking any questions.

    What punishment has Fr. Pfeiffer inflicted on these rogue coordinators/sites who went against his wishes by inviting Ambrose to say "mass"? Nothing -- more like a wink and a nod.

    Actually, it's not about "Fr. Pfeiffer's wishes" per se, but more about scandal and giving Fr. Pfeiffer a bad name (it makes him look inconsistent or even deceptive). If I were Fr. Pfeiffer, I'd be leveling some kind of retribution against these locations. ...If I were truly upset about it, that is.

    Fr. Pfeiffer doesn't put on kid gloves when he attacks +Williamson or +Faure. If he truly has a problem with Ambrose, why not say it publicly? Is it because he doesn't want to burn any bridges, just in case his Resistance kamikaze campaign is "successful"?

    Yes, the sooner Fr. P recognizes ManuelChavez as the great leader he is, and turns over the running of everything to him, the better.  Then 2016 can be far better than 2015.  Heck, he could just as well take over Pablo's position, all for the better!

    * Year of Mercy; SSPX given faculties for confessions from Dec 8, 2015 - Dec 8, 2016

    The announcements I've seen have the end date the Novus Ordo Christ the King Sunday, which is the traditional 24th and Last Sunday after Pentecost, the Sunday before Advent starts.  That's November 20th, not Dec. 8th.

    Therefore the "year" of mercy is really about 11 months of mercy.

    Manuel, would Fr. Pfeiffer at least tolerate the Denver Mission Co-ordinator having Ambrose Moran continue to celebrate "Mass" at the Denver Mission Co-ordinator's home?
