  • I haven't posted here in a while, because I haven't had time.

Seeing what I've been looking at here lately, I have a question for everyone involved or previously involved at Boston, KY.

How many of you have volunteered to take a couple of weeks off to help down there?

I'll check back in a few days to see how many people have. If you have not, please refrain from posting in this thread.

    I appreciate your cooperation.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.

Hopefully, one may ask a question!

What does your question mean? Volunteer to...? Help with ...?
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

I've volunteered there and it was more than a couple of weeks.  How long did you visit for?

  • Over the last two years, since July 2013, I have been to and from the seminary various times and for various amounts of time, from a few days to a few weeks.

  • I see a few of you have done so.

I just got back from there a couple of weeks ago now, and I've had a chance to observe.

I've seen very much criticism, and the only solution offered is to can someone that is giving more than enough effort and time to operations down there.

I'm going to offer a different solution. Instead of attacking that person, have any of you considered giving the person a reprieve, and taking over his duties a couple of weeks at a time so people can rotate instead of just having one person doing literally almost everything?

I know there are plenty of single men that are out there that it wouldn't hurt to take some "vacation time" to "take the reins" so to speak, so that said person can have some time off? Perhaps learn all that needs to be done in day to day operations and fill in? I'm certain many of you gentleman are intelligent enough to come up with a plan so that one person isn't burdened with all the responsibility for long periods of time. Think about it.

Even some single women out there could help that would be willing (especially during retreats) to do the cooking and the shopping, keep track of inventory so that multiple trips into town are not being made unnecessarily. With some economy and some thrift, the expenses to feed people could be reduced significantly, and if gifted with cooking skills, tastier meals could be prepared.

Any of you men handy at fixing structures? Why not offer some of your time to help out. Surely we have some people here that have those skills.

This is simply my own personal observation. No judgments on individuals, no anger or vendettas. Not sure if anyone else has come up with these ideas before. If someone has, I agree. If not, I do hope everyone does take it into consideration.

Thanks for your attention and God bless you.

One can see that you have no idea what you're talking!
We all have helped, but that truth is that Pablo refuses to get the help that he demanded in his Charity Video. He's the boss. Many lay people have helped the last 3 years in the kitchen, they all had to obey Pablo and were mistreated.
Parentfortruth you may have a good intention but it doesn't work out, because the boss and the priests were inclined to be uncooperative. So it is not wise to go there, but to stay at home and to pray for them!
    Kyrie Eleison!

  • Parents for truth is correct. I have gone and helped out. It's when people go there to enforce their own ideas on how things should be run, that is when the problems happen. I have seen this first hand, and when two headstrong people clash (Pablo is headstrong, for surel), it is often problematic. There is a way to work and volunteer at the seminary, one that doesn't involve busting heads or causing issues.

  • The hilarious thing is that I didn't even see that "charity video" until after I posted my opinion.

Pretty funny that I'm told I don't know what I'm talking about.
