The Franciscan Monestery is well worth the trip. It has "catacombs' with reproductions of the martyrs tombs like St Philomena. The Church is lovely as well. To me, if there is a choice, it is much better than the Basillica of the Imaculate Conception which is just above the property of Catholic University. (Althouhg the Basillica is amazingly imposing -huge- and both are pretty close together) To me it looks like a mosque from the outside.
The Basillica staff threw me off the property 3 years ago when I was on the sidewalk in front with a Statue of OLOF with a sign to Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart.
"Dean" Garvey tried to throw us off Catholic University property for the same reason when two of us were there with Our Lady when Cardinal Kasper was receiving his award for being a good apostate.
