I'll bring the instrument I play, all right -- the human voicebox. I'm a vocalist. I'm your garden variety "Irish tenor".

My son plays the organ, but he's not even packing his smaller "travel" organ.  Since we're flying, we're trying to travel light. Besides, organ doesn't fit in to an outdoor, fiddle/guitar/banjo/mandolin/tin whistle/accordion dancing music ensemble.

What songs are you likely to play? Irish folk songs? Other folk songs?
Lol...  Well, voices are good to have too!!!  That is neat that your sons plays the organ!  Between you both that means you have enough for a choir and schola!  ;)

I am not sure what sort of music my friend plays on the accordion, but most of the music which I play is either Irish or folk.  I have an big book of Irish songs, and if people are interested, I might be able to make copies of handouts for people to sing with us.  I will give fair warning though that my mandolin experience is very limited.

Violin is my primary instrument, but it is a bit harder to do chords on and make it able to be sung with...   ::)

I'll be at the Consecration. I fly in to DC about 11:00PM Wednesday night and fly back out at about 7:00PM Thursday night. After the consecration I plan to visit the National Archives and Arlington National Cemetery before I head to the airport.

I am VERY VERY disappointed to miss this, am being deployed with military next week and there is a lot to do in getting my family situated before I leave.  Believe me, I thought and prayed long and hard about this!  I'm sure you know how lucky you are to attend...worth every sacrifice!

PLEASE say a prayer for my family at this most blessed event!

Wow, now that's a short trip! You won't even be there for the First Mass and picnic potluck on Friday.
You won't even get a full night's sleep before the Thursday morning consecration...

At least you value the event. Think of how many so-called "Traditional Catholics" are staying aloof from this great, historical event due to POLITICS and HUMAN RESPECT ("the SSPX says it's bad, so I better not go...", "Fr. Pfeiffer says +Williamson and Fr. Zendejas are bad, so...", etc.)
