There is a fresh pic of Ambrose ensconced on the sofa during recreation with the seminarians on the "30 days" blog. My silly hopes that he had been given his walking papers seem to be dashed.

It wasn't a trick question. It doesn't involve much arithmetic, certainly no higher math. If someone can count to 10, that should be all the skills required. So again: How many seminarians are firmly enrolled at OLMC? Not,

Don't be silly. I never said I was counting surplices.

Look at the schola. There are four people there wearing clerical collars. One of them is Fr. Hewko. So, that is three who are either priests (doubtful) or seminarians. Manuel's brother is not one of them, so he makes four. OpSurvival is in the video elsewhere, so that makes five.

Given the number of other young men wandering about at a funeral on a Friday afternoon for a person who didn't have much in the way of family, I concluded that it was not unreasonable to say there are eight seminarians.

I don't know what you mean by "firmly enrolled".
