Title: How many resistance priests are there?
Post by: Matto on April 17, 2013, 03:12:15 PM
The reason I am asking this is because according to Traditio (http://www.traditio.com/), there are around one hundred priests who have left the SSPX. But, according to True Trad (http://www.truetrad.com/index.php) they only list around twenty priests, not including the religious orders. Does anyone know how many there really are? Thank you.

So there are in my list 32 priests.

If you count the alleged anonymous 34 of the French District, the number would climb to 66.

FInally, the list does not take into account any unknown priests that may be living within the mentioned religious communities.

Per Fr Chazal's update from India Father Valan Rajkumar (SSPX) is also helping the resistance in India.  Over the years there could be close to 100 priest that left the SSPX for various reasons ie FSSP, SSPV, SSJ, Mater Boni Consilii, Independents, etc.  but originally where SSPX priest.

But the resistance priests are still SSPX, because they still hold true vision of Abp. Lefebvre.

Little corrections:

7. Fr. Meramo, FSSPX  (Colombia)
8. Fr. Ceriani, FSSPX (Argentina)
10. Fr. Grosso, FSSPX (Argentina) (AFAIK, Fr. Grosso never became a SSPX's priest, although he was reordered by Bp. de Galarreta)
12. Fr. Rene Trincado, FSSPX (Chile)
15. Fr. Arturo Vargas, FSSPX (Mexico) (I think Fr. Vargas is in Quito)

Independents:
1. Fr. Ringrose (USA)
2. Fr. Richard Voigt, SDB (USA)
3. Fr. René Miguel Trincado Cvjetkovic (Unknown) Already mentioned at number 12
