Benedict XVI - Traditionalist Hero of the SSPX...?
Posted by The Editor on January 28, 2013 at 2:45 PM
Latest piece of evidence regarding the worrying way in which certain sections of the SSPX seem to regard Benedict XVI as some sort of Restorer of Tradition:
This is a photo taken at the ordination of Abbé Lundi by Bishop Fellay, at St. Nicolas du Chardonnet, Paris, on 27/01/13 (yesterday).
Have a good look at the device on Abbé Lundi's chasuble.
Can you tell which coat of arms it is?
Here's an enlarged version of it. Pay close attention to the heraldry in the centre.
That's right, it's the Coat of Arms of Pope Benedict XVI.
Which leaves us with an interesting question:
Why would a newly ordained SSPX priest wear a chasuble decorated with Benedict XVI's coat of arms for his ordination?
Any suggestions gratefully recieved. I am sure it is a mere coincidence, of course...!

"...'But we are not alone' in working to 'defend the faith,' the bishop said. 'It's the pope himself who does it; that's his job. And if we are called to help the Holy Father in that, so be it.' "

"If Rome now calls us back from the exile ... then that is an act of justice and without doubt also an act of authentic pastoral care of Pope Benedict XVI. And for that we are grateful."
