    Dear Mr ...........,

Greetings from Maria Virgo Fidelis Priory Anaku. I hope this message meets you in good health. How are doing, your family also?

First of all kindly accept my heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering financial support and sincere concern for our missions here in Nigeria. It is still very fresh in my mind the assistance you rendered for Fr Mike's eye operation and Fr Joseph's buying of lands for the Church building not the mention the former ones. Your solidarity, especially in difficult times are more than a verbal expression can articulate.

Sir, I must speak to you openly and honestly. In recent times, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, designated Nigeria as a “Country of particular concern” due to the increasing Christian genocide that has become too rampart. Sadly, this is not an exaggeration—it is a reality we live with. Our country Nigeria is passing through one of the most precarious and painful moments in her history. The situation has taken on a troubling religious dimension in which Christians have become direct targets. It is heartbreaking and deeply distressing.

Despite these challenges, I am ever resolute especially whenever I look at the God-given growing number of children in my Priory. They are our hope of continuing this "operation survival" of the Traditional Latin Mass. I need a secured environment for their proper upbringing. Yet I must candidly tell you that the violence remains far from stable.

There is significant security tension in Anaku my current area of apostolate. Anaku is an agrarian rural community in Anambra State populated by peasant farmers with vast stretches of fertile land covered in green vegetation. Unfortunately, this has made it a prime target for herdsmen seeking grazing grounds. Earlier this year, a planned attack on the community was narrowly averted, but the threat persists. These armed groups—often linked to larger extremist movements—have devastated many communities across Nigeria. They are now camped around Anaku, heavily armed and poised to unleash violence at any provocation. The uncertainty and fear are overwhelming.

However, in response to these mounting threats, I have decided to take a safety measure in order to protect lives and properties in our Priory. At this very moment, the most urgent and critical need is raising the fencing and putting big gates in our Priory.
That was the place where our dear Bishop Paul Morgan administered the sacrament of confirmation to our members in November last year. This protective measure has become essential to deter intruders and prevent forced trespass by roaming herdsmen who move unpredictably and without restraint. Securing the Priory is no longer optional—it is a matter of safety, survival, and responsible stewardship.

This message of mine sir is therefore an earnest and urgent plea for financial assistance. I'm willing to accept free will donations and Mass stipends.

Some of our faithful are now afraid to access their farmlands due to these armed groups who have occupied the surrounding areas kidnapping, assaulting, and killing innocent people. Our people are living in fear, stripped of safety and the ability to provide for their families. The situation is heartbreaking and calls for immediate attention.

I sincerely thank you once again sir for your concern, your prayers, and your constant financial support. You are a great source of encouragement to us. May God continue to show you, family and friends his mercies through Christ our Lord.

Sincerely yours in Jesus and Mary ,
    Fr. Christopher Nduefuna.

  • I've asked Fr Nduefuna to provide an estimate of costs for the necessary works to secure the property and buildings, and details on how to send financial help and stipends. He is working on that, and when I receive the information I shall post it here.

It is a cause worthy of consideration for Advent almsgiving and to start the New Year on a good foot!

I don't know the history of this mission, how long it has been in existence, how many faithful etc.

Anambra state is in the south of the country, not the north which is the traditional area of concern. It may well be a case of trouble will find you wherever you go... we might be next!

Whatever the reason, help is needed. "As long as you did it to one of these my least brethren you did it to me".

SimonJew'd isn't asking in good faith, PV. His CI tenure has consisted of being anti-modesty, pro-NO, and of being anti-basically any actually Traditional priest or group in discussion. Go check out one of his very first posts, where he casts aspersions on Fr. Onuorah. And now he "innocently" asks why the good priests in Nigeria would "choose" to set up chapels where the faithful are..like they have a say about when and where the islamists will persecute them.
John 15:19  If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Poor Simon. We'll convert him. Grace will touch his heart and he will make reparation by helping these poor priests and faithful, at least with his prayers if not financially.

  • Fr Nduefuna has provided a detailed estimate of the cost to build the security fence. It comes to NGN18,000,000.00 which is equivalent to AUD$19,000.00 or a bit over USD$12,500.

For full details of the estimate, see the attachment.

You will also see at the end of the attachment details on how to transfer money using Wise.com:
    Christopher Nduefuna Chukwudi
    Access Bank PLC
    0001492861

Wise is surely the easiest way to transfer funds internationally. These are the only details required. It is extremely simple to set up an account. The exchange rates are excellent, and the transfer is usually instantaneous.

If you would like to transfer using another method, please message me so that I can obtain details from Father, or email him directly:
    nduefunac@gmail.com

We cannot look on and see our brothers in the Faith in such danger and not lend a helping hand: "As long as you did it to one of these my least brethren you did it to me". What a consolation!

Nearly 3 million naira has been raised already, so the sum required is now down to around 15 million.

  • We have raised about one fifth of the cost of the security wall (AUD4000 out of 19000), enough to begin works. Please help protect our Traditional Catholic mission, priests and faithful if you can from this threat to the faith and their lives.

    From Fr Nduefuna today:

    Dear ....., Ave Maria.

Greetings from the Maria Virgo Fidelis Priory, Anaku.

This is part of the fence to be raised for security precaution. We have started moulding the blocks.

  • Please help Fr Nduefuna build his security wall if you can. We have raised a little over a third of the funds, but there is still a long way to go.

Here is an update from an email sent to me on the 31st of December from his 'superior', Fr Chigbata:

On this note, I wish to thank you very sincerely for always being there for us whenever we call upon you. I am especially grateful for the help you extended to Fr. Christopher toward the ongoing fencing of our priory. This support has become all the more urgent following a troubling incident that occurred on the 25th of December. On that day, the presence of kidnappers was reported near the priory, confirming the very real dangers we face and reinforcing the urgent need to secure the premises.

According to the tracker used by the authorities, our priory is the only registered and recognized address in the area. As a result, the police and other security agencies came on Christmas night in search of the kidnappers and their victim, though unsuccessfully, as the tracker provided incorrect signals. They returned again on the morning of the 26th of December to conduct further searches within the priory and neighboring buildings. It was clearly affirmed that neither the kidnappers nor the victim were present in any of these locations.

It is known that terrorist camps are not far from the priory, and the tracker itself suggested that the search radius be extended beyond the immediate vicinity—up to about a 100 square metre radius. Unfortunately, the Nigerian police are understandably hesitant to confront the terrorists directly in their hideouts. The idea of using our priory as a reference point for such activity is therefore entirely false.

Nevertheless, the trauma and psychological effects of such events are not insignificant, even though we remain firmly in the hands of God. It is precisely situations like this that moved us to conceive the idea of a Generalate House in Nteje, so that in times of heightened tension and danger, the priests may have a safer place of refuge.

  • Father sent me an email a couple of days ago detailing his frightening Christmas ordeal. Please help us secure his priory:

Mon, Jan 12, 9:05 PM (2 days ago)

    to me

    Ave Maria.

Thank you so much for your understanding.

I remain grateful to God who always protects us. In fact I was traumatized at about 7:00pm local time on the 24th December 2025. I was in my Priory compound getting things ready for the midnight Mass. I heard a violent bang on the gate of the next compound after ours. It's an abandoned and bushy building. I opened my gate and stepped out asking repeatedly; " Who was there? It's getting dark but I could see the figure of two men standing in front of that gate but, they ignored my questions. I heard a voice coming from inside that compound questioning who's there and at the same time releasing a gunshot. I was about approaching them but the gunshot made me to dash into my compound immediately and padlocked my gate at once. My nearest neighbour is a Police station about a mile away. Shortly these men came knocking on my gate, flashing their touch... I hid somewhere watching, not knowing what to do. Fear gripped me. Could these be kidnappers or the  Fulani gunmen?

I started making contacts. My closest neighbour is the Police station but, I have been avoiding them so I didn't have their contact. I reached out to the local vigilante group who arrived in about 40 minutes. By then those men had shifted his somewhere nearby. They re-emerged when they heard noise of my gate as I opened it for the vigilante men.

However, they were a dispatchment from that Police station who was searching for a 16 year old girl who was being held within my vicinity according to their tracker. They requested to search my compound, I took them round, seeing nothing they left after about 40 minutes search. I managed to celebrate the midnight Mass at 10:00pm.

I thought it was all over but, on the Christmas day during the consecration in Mass at down I heard some disturbing conversations at my gate, our Mass is celebrated outside because our Priory chapel is too small. I ignored the conversations in order to concentrate on the Sacrifice I was offering. After the Mass I went outside, a team led by the DPO of that Police station and a man were waiting to see me. After greetings and introductions, the man brought out his phone and played a clip of the tracker that led them to my Priory. It ended saying "you are at the exact spot." It showed our contact address too. I was confused, he apologized and told me that they came with the help of the tracker in search of a kidnapped girl. They came from the major city about 29 kilometers away.

The Police DPO demanded for a thorough search of my Priory. I took them inside every apartment of my Priory. Nothing was found but the tracker was showing still that the victim was here. I was then invited to the Police station to write a statement which I did. By the time I returned I was weak. This was how I enjoyed my Christmas 🎁

The truth of the matter is that our Priory is the only property that is registered properly within the vicinity. There were other houses springing up here and there but no named street address. The tracker  picked our Priory as the nearest landmark to where the victim was being held.

This is what we live through my brother. Sorry for the long text I have bothered you with.

    Still yours,
    Fr Chris.
