  • I attend an SSPX chapel. I have obviously heard of the Resistance and have a vague idea why it exists.

But can someone please educate me on why they truly think there is a problem with the current SSPX (This is not a challenge, I am seriously ignorant and want to hear why some people go to the Resistance.)

Do you really think the SSPX will succumb to liberalism and the New Theology? Once again I reiterate, this is not a challenge. I am a busy guy and want to hear from some people who can sum up the Resistant argument for me.

  • Well, besides a zionist showing up unannounced in the upper echelons of the SSPX you see, there's a been general pattern of deceit going on for several years now:

For your better understanding, here's a marked-up re-cap of events explained by another Cathinfo member:

SSPX chooses secular Re-branding  (How, Why  and When)

    Introduction:

Fr. Jurgen Wegner was the District Superior of Belgium and Holland for 9-years (1999-2008).

    •    Then, he became the District Superior of Canada in 2008 taking the place of Fr. Arnaud Rostand. Therefore, this Dutch “branding” happened sometime within that time line 1999-2008.

With the help of others, let’s figure this out by putting events together and see where it leads us.

    DURING 1999-2008:

    •    1994 – GREC  (Establishment of newChurch dialogues by Bp. Fellay)

    •    2000 – SSPX Rome pilgrimage. (Bp. Fellay ogles the red hats)

    •    2006 – SSPX General Chapter with an excellent outcome –Doctrine first.
Theme: "Rome needs to convert". (Excellente!)

    •    2007 - The Motu Proprio happened, setting the Traditional Mass as second place - “Extraordinary”.
(Mess with the TLM Mass and your anathema buddy! (St. Pope Pius V)

    AFTER 2008:

    •    2008 - Fr. Jurgen WEGNER becomes the District Superior of Canada.
(The SSPX's PR brains arrives in the New world)

    •    2008 - Fr. Rostand becomes the District Superior of the U.S.
( The big guy's job is to wield +F's iron hand over the cowboys)

    •    2009 - Bishop Fellay removes Bishop Williamson from the active apostolate; sending him to live in an attic in London, England.
(And +W sympathizers are eyed wearily)

    •    2009 - The “lifting” of the excommunications happened without mentioning Archbishop Lefebvre or Bishop de Castro Mayer.
     ("Oh, who cares... they're dead")

    •    2011 – SSPX has exchanges with conciliar Rome for a “practical agreement”.
(Dumping +ABL's Doctrinal agreement prerequisite is a betrayal of the Faith and the SSPX founder))

    •    2012 – SSPX has secret workings with conciliar Rome. (Shhhh! Hey don't tell anybody will ya!)

    •    2012 – Exchange letters of the 3-sspx Bishops,
Bishop Fellay’s (scandalous) return letter to them.
(Tissier and De Galeretta are both relocated to be put on ice)

    •    2012 – Bishop Fellay’s (scandalous) Doctrinal Declaration.
( +F concedes to sell-out before the next round of negotiationss)

    •    2012 – SSPX General Chapter with the (scandalous) 6-conditions.
(More documented sell-out of the Faith)

    •    2012 – Major exposure of SSPX scandals, threats and recriminations
(Hey, what's an SSPX zionist doing managing 80 million Euros from the Judeihoffer trust?)

    •    2012 – Expulsions of many priests and Bishop Williamson who do not agree with the new “doctrines” of the new SSPX. (Question +F's actions and your gone!)

    •    2012 - Fr. Rostand announces in his “Christmas appeal” that they have started updating with a new image.
(Dig those full color brochures... they must have cost a fortune?  Why, its just like my Novus ordo parish?)

    •    2013 – sspx.org changes their website to a new “image” for the world.
(Get rid of that nerdy website. Tradition's got to be hip and worldly buddy)

  • What attracted the majority of people to SSPX Masses was their strong position of offense against the errors of modern Rome. This is important not only because it keeps people apprised of the perils of their time but it also teaches them how to reject these errors in their own lives. In preaching against error the priests are preaching for truth. But in the past 10 years or so the SSPX leadership has been changing their ways and policies by increments that few noticed until it became too obvious to ignore.

They have been changing to be more modern looking, more agreeable, and more politically correct to the world at large. In themselves these are not bad things, (except maybe political correctness which often compromises truth) --- the Resistance isn't against change per se but the intentions behind them. The intentions are to make the SSPX seem more acceptable to the worldly and modern Rome. (Look up threads about GREC.)

The SSPX used to be unwavering in the principle that only the conversion of Rome would allow for an agreement since only the conversion of Rome would keep them safe from the fate of all the other groups that have capitulated to VII. Now, however there is a real effort to pretend this principle never existed or existed with a different meaning than what has always been understood. Leadership is quoting +ABL from earlier times to "prove" this was not his way or intention. However he obviously came to this conclusion in his later years as he realized how bad the situation was and how the modernists in Rome would do anything to compromise their mission. There was no doubt about this in earlier SSPX times which is why many in the Resistance have actually been with the SSPX for decades. The priests leaving and resisting are older priests who were formed with the original principles which are the wisest principles.

If you really want to get to the bottom of it you may have to put your business aside now and then and read though the pinned topics. Because this has been an incremental change with various secret and "discreet" elements, you have to be willing to look at the big picture because there is no one undeniable smoking gun. With true political strategy these people have thought many steps ahead and need to be able to deny anything is going on until most are convinced a personal prelature or other such agreement without the conversion of Rome would be a good thing. Slow boiling. Some evidence is weaker and subject to personal interpretation but other things like +Fellay's incriminating interviews and the sermons and conferences of other SSPX leadership are much less deniable.

  • I'll add that for all the SSPX leadership's efforts to pretend the Resistance are imagining things, +Fellay acknowledged in a CFN interview that a personal prelature would split the SSPX. So on one hand he admits that what he was working towards would split the SSPX but on the other hand they work awfully hard to make it seem like nothing is going on.

Some of the reasons they used to kick priests out of the SSPX for being modernist and compromised now make up their own reasons being preached to the faithful in favor of an agreement! For that you can look up the district letter of Fr Violette regarding the expulsion of Fr Aulagnier. Fr. Aulagnier's philosophy that finally got him kicked out is now what you'll hear coming from many of the higher ups but now with the SSPX's blessing. In fact, +Fellay threw them back in the 3 bishops' faces when they wrote to warn him against the impending agreement in 2012. This type of documentation captures the change in spite of any claims that changes are not taking place.

  • I would sum it up into one statement:

The Archbishop held that the SSPX should not have an agreement of recognition with Rome until AFTER Rome comes back to Tradition and rejects the errors of Vatican II.

The change that you have not seemed to notice dear Maximus is that the SSPX does plan to have an agreement of recognition with Rome BEFORE Rome comes back to Tradition.  That is a complete 180 from the position of Archbishop Lefebvre.

  • It's 2016 and we're still going through this.
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...

  • Part of the reason that these talks are "ongoing" and seemingly never-ending, is by design.  The first step to change is mental.  And +Fellay, who seems to follow the change process of the NWO propagandists, introduced the idea of a "deal" years ago, because he (and those behind his agenda) know that something like this wouldn't happen overnight (just like the new mass wasn't implemented overnight).

It's all psychology - one has to become acustomed to the change, mentally, before one can accept it.  Especially a change/shift of this magnitude.  This type of brainwashing applies to most people, but not all.  Those who saw through the "conditioning" are those who spoke out about it, were kicked out, started the Resistance, etc.

Right now, +Fellay can point to 'acts' and say "Hey, nothing has changed; the resistance people are crazy."

But, the mindset has changed, even if the 'acts' haven't (yet).  And the mindset is the most important part of change.  The body always follows the mind.  As St Paul says, "take unto you the helmet of salvation.."  I always interpret this to mean that we must pray for God to guide/guard our thoughts, for they so often keep us from, or lead us into, sin.

I attend Mass at a chapel which is connected with the Resistance.

Our chapel used to be connected with the SSPX until the last couple years, when they started to become more liberal.

Numbers of my friends who are connected with the Resistance have told me stories of how the best priests they knew from the SSPX were kicked out, left on the street without anything, or worse.  This all being because they tried to stand up against joining the Vatican II church.

Also, it seems that the SSPX have begun to allow Novus Ordo priests to join the Society without making sure that they were properly ordained.

These are the basics that I know of.  Hope this helps you!  :-)
