  • There a some people I know who are wringing their hands about the imminent failure of the SSPX. They worry that their very safe and seemingly secure attachment to Holy Church that allows them to practice the Faith in a traditional manner will go away.  Where will that leave them?  What will become of all the money they have donated over the years? Hasn't that bought them anything?

A - It may go away.  The mainstream Church went away in the 1960's, all while the pastors were echoing "Don't worry!  It'll be OK!  Trust us!"  Have you heard that kind of reassurance from the pulpit lately?

B - That will leave  you with the Faith, at least.  What will you do with it? I recommend you hold fast to it. I am reminded of the Japanese Catholics who, when their "evil western" Priests were all deported, held onto the Faith, and taught it to their children whom they Baptized themselves. When after about 200 years the God-Emperor allowed missionaries back into Japan, the Catholics would notice Caucasian men in clerical attire, and they would ask them if they were Priests.  To those who replied "Yes." they demanded "Show us your Rosary."  Can we hold on that long, do you think?

C - The money you give is gone as soon as you drop it in he basket. If you think it keeps a "I must approve of what you do with it" string attached, you are mistaken.  It is not an investment.  All it buys you is a "Requirement Met!" stamp on your report card when you stand before the Throne of God.

Tell anyone who asks that they should be prepared to assist at Mass in converted Garages or Barns, with Mass offered by an itinerant Priest on a plywood Altar.  If the SSPX decides to follow Bishop Fellay into the pit, any of the Faithful who follow them will wind up there too.  I've done the "Barn Thing" and the "Garage Thing" many times since I returned to the Mass and Sacraments, and I can do it again, if necessary.
If you are a Catholic and still breathing air, you are a member of the Church Militant![/i] If you are not fighting under Jesus Christ's banner, remember there is a penalty for "dereliction of duty."

  • I've been to Mass in a garage, attic, barn, living room, dining room, basement, motel room, VFW hall, fire hall, picnic table outdoors in the rain, room in a nursing home;  have gone to confession in the rain in a parking lot, under the stairs in a youth hostel, in the corner of a crowded airport, in a tent at a campground, in the woods...Yes, a church is nice.  There's no place like a cathedral, but the most magnificent pales in comparison to the true Mass, the true Sacraments.  What are these without the true Faith?  St. Athanasius encouraged his tiny flock with the words, "They have the churches, but we have the Faith."
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  •  :applause:

Ive been doing the cacacomb masses for 45 years now!  Its a priviledge to have a beautiful church to attend mass in, but not a right or a requirement.
REMEMBER, the Church started in the catacombs

We will be denied the right to assemble when the US goes under msrshall law during the takeover!

Storefront Novus Ordo churches may survive,  but I have read prophecies that theiir p r e s b y t e r s  will also be killed and the churches destroyed.  History repeats itself.

Italy has never suffered religious persecution and been purified, so  Rome will fall like a rotton apple and be physically ravaged and destroyed by the forces of antichrist.

I disagree.  Look up a fellow named Nero, and one named Diocletian too.

And should it ever come to that, I hope I have the intestinal fortitude to accept the honor.

  • I remember back in 1968, I attended Father DePaul's Mass held in the
American Legion Hall in Alexandria, Virginia.
The picture of them President Lyndon Johnson was covered because
the Conservatives did not like him because of his guns and butter
    policies.
In those days, I have yet to learn to drive a car, and spent $40.00
round trip using a Taxi. That was a week's wage after taxes.

Actually these were Roman Emperors when the Roman world was much more than the geographical and political entity that we refer to as Italy. Italy as we know it was formed on "Unification" on 17 March 1861. So it is true that Italy has not suffered religious persecution and been purified.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.
