Apparently, on Palm Sunday, Fr. Macdonald made an announcement in Bristol, England that he is leaving to join Bp. Williamson and will travel to Australia on April 7........

I heard this too, didn't know if anyone would bring it up here. Apparently Fr Novak talked to the St Mary's Academy high school boys about it a week or two ago. Scares me from sending any kids there since this isn't the first I've heard of them using their positions to bad-talk anyone Resistance. Seems really inappropriate to me.

Yes I was disappointed to hear that's where he stood. And of course that he couldn't leave the kids out of it. Without revealing details I can only say there wasn't much chance for Chinese Telephone to distort the report. That's something I would take into consideration before posting. But already I feel a little bad, maybe I shouldn't have said anything. It's hard to know sometimes.

Wallflower, it's these priests who should feel bad, not you. Priests we once looked up to and followed are no longer worthy of the trust we once placed in them. Maybe when their backs are against the wall they will rejoin the Church Militant and fight for the Faith as they once did. We must pray for them.

First of all, I don't believe anything should have been posted about Father Novak without first hand knowledge. Secondly, no one should be judging Father too harshly. He has some terrible health problems that could be affecting his actions.

He does need prayers, they all do, whether they are with the Society or +Williamson.

It's called gossip. I repeat, this should have been verified by contacting Father and asking him personally before it was posted. His reputation has already been damaged, perhaps undeservedly. Now some will think he is not a "fighter", not good enough to teach their kids or go to confession to and now maybe his Masses are not good either?

There is a reason the person who passed this information "felt bad" it is called conscience.

I don't know how Fr Novak's reputation has already been damaged so I can assure you that my post has nothing to do with whatever you may be referring to. Neither do I believe I am "judging" him. I have always had a fondness for the Novak family and would much prefer to have different news.

I have no doubt as to the veracity of my post and I don't think a talk given at school can be considered private and bound by any confidence. Is it not expected that children will go home and discussions will ensue?

I understand it puts readers in a difficult position since they don't know me or my connections and my preference not to give a source doesn't help. I have given Matthew more details and trust his judgment about whether it should remain posted.
