I can truthfully state as a professed member of the Third Order of Penance of St. Dominic under the Dominican Friars of the Couvent de la Haye aux Bonshommes in Avrille, France that that same friary has placed itself at the service of the Resistance according to their signatures on the "Address to the Faithful."
Fr. Pierre-Marie, O.P. as the Father Prior has signed on behalf of the friary.
BofA is right:
The house that is being opened in Steffeshausen is something that Bishop Fellay has done totally outside (i.e. without consultation or permission) the Dominican friary at Avrille. Those five priests and brothers left the Dominican community on their own, at different times over the years, without regard to Canon Law or the Dominican constitutions. They have been away from their proper religious home without permission for some years. There are long-standing procedures in place for handling this type of situation. Bishop Fellay has willfully disregarded these procedures.
The new, so-called "Dominican" house is under the authority of Bishop de Galarretta as appointed by Bishop Fellay--a situation that is also unheard of under Canon Law regarding the governance of religious houses and is also against the Dominican constitutions.
Bishop Fellay is assuming to himself powers that even the Pope does not have.
He disregards Canon Law and Tradition, the constitutions of religious orders and even the civil and criminal laws of various nations. He is a tyrant in every sense of the word. These Dominicans have suffered much under his hands.
The upshot is that the Dominican Fathers of Avrille, France have very much put themselves at the service of the Resistance.
