Even if they fail to finish for whatever reason, it's not a bad occupation to have spent time building a church and donating to the cause.

The "cause" grows as the months pass...buy this land, only $15K more (right), pay for this wall, on and on and on...and one appeal is followed by another, and another, etc.  Throw your money wherever you want, but any sensible man would have already realized that such an investment, especially in 2025, is unwise and it'd be better to use whatever limited resources you have for something else.  Maybe I am a curmudgeon, but these endless appeals at this moment in time seem out of touch with the fiscal reality of the world and anything sensible.

Look at all the glorious churches and monasteries in England desecrated by the Protestants - were they a waste of time?

:laugh1:  Give. Me. A. Break.  These people clearly haven't the first damn clue about how to plan for and execute a building project.  Comparing this venture to pre-1500s England, etc., is disgraceful.

Looks like the land of the free there with seemingly no codes to worry about. Something like that would cost 100 times more over here.

But, that church is looking a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. It's a bit thin and sketchy at this point on the upper structure.

Wow...
You and I are worlds apart in our thinking.
Happy Christmas Gladius.

Fr Nduefuna's security wall is a separate apostolate, a separate appeal, from a good priest who has more recently converted to Tradition and joined the Resistance cause, being conditionally ordained by Bishop Morgan.

Do you blame him for wanting to protect his church and faithful from the Islamic threat? If you were in his position would you simply deliver up God's work and faithful to the enemy?

Fr Peter Scott who is with the SSPX in Nigeria has a similar fortification surrounding the SSPX property that recently required an appeal for repair after floods.

Caritas Christi urget nos.

It means something! When we see how much God has loved us and sacrificed Himself for us poor wretched sinners, it urges us to sacrifice ourselves and all we have for Him. It will determine our eternity. "Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee?"...
